Slideshow of the Race to 20,000 Page Views: #1
Update: Page Views at the end of September 5, 2009
Commentary:
The September 5, 2009 update brings a close to the race to 20,000 page views. Rachel de Carlos edges out Jolynne Hudnell for the bronze medal. To recap, Kayla Wardlow wins the Gold Medal, Shelly Barclay wins the Silver Medal and Rachel de Carlos wins the Bronze Medal.
The standings in the total page views for the contest period remain unchanged from September 4th. Kayla Wardlow remains in first place, winning the Gold. Jolynne Hudnell hangs on to her lead over Rachel de Carlos and claims the Silver Medal. Rachel de Carlos stays in 3rd place and wins the Bronze Medal.
Thank you to all to the Associated Content Contributors that participated in this first race to 20,000 page views. I hope that it was an enjoyable experience and I hope to see you involved in future races or contests.
Update: Page Views at the end of September 4, 2009
Commentary:
It looks like there is a good chance the Bronze Medal will be awarded tomorrow in the race to 20,000 page views. Rachel de Carlos holds the inside track needing just 266 page views to reach 20,000 page views. Jolynne Hudnell could capture the medal as well. She needs 652 page views to reach 20,000 page views. No other Contributors look to be in contention for the Bronze Medal.
With the possibility of the race to 20,000 page views potentially ending with the 9/5/2009 update, the total page views for the contest period could be potentially over as well. Currently, Kayla Wardlow looks to have a safe grip on 1st place. However, 2nd and 3rd place are still up for grabs with Jolynne Hudnell sitting in 2nd place, but leading Rachel de Carlos by just 74 page views. It would take a huge update for any other Contributor to rise up and land in any of the top three spots.
Update: Page Views at the end of August 31, 2009
Commentary:
Shelly Barclay reached exactly 20,000 page views today and claimed the Silver Medal in the Race to 20,000 page views. Currently, Jolynne Hudnell is in 3rd place. She leads Rachel de Carlos by just 21 page views. Karen Jurewicz is within striking distance and trails Jolynne by 1,162 page views
It is hard to imagine a scenario in which Kayla Wardlow will surrender the Gold Medal in the total page views, during the contest period. Jolynne Hudnell is in 2nd, Rachel de Carlos is 3rd and Shelly Barclay is in 4th place.

Update: Page Views at the end of August 15, 2009
Commentary:
Shelly Barclay shows no signs that she is prepared to give up the Silver Medal as she continues to lead Karen Jurewicz by 1,157 page views. Karen at least for the moment seems safe in her Bronze Medal position.
Things are really heating up in the battle for the second most page views, during the contest period. Rachel de Carlos passed Jolynne Hudnell with this update and moved into the Silver Medal position. However, she only leads by 8 page views. Shelly Barclay is in 4th place, trailing Rachel by 532 page views and Jolynne by 540 page views. She could easily end up medaling in this event.
Update: Page Views at the end of August 14, 2009
Commentary:
Shelly Barclay takes the reigns for 2nd place and gears up for the Silver Medal in the race to 20,000 page views. She leads Karen Jurewicz by 1,154 page views. If Karen can hold her current place, she will be the Bronze Medal winner. Kristen Wilkerson and Rachel de Carlos lurk in 4th and 5th place respectively and I think it would be a mistake to count either of them out. Han Van Meegerin broke the 12,000 page view mark and Langley Cornwell passed 10,000 page views.
It is a real question as to who will end up with the second and third best total page views, during the contest period. Currently, leading the push for the Silver Medal is Jolynee Hudnell. However, Rachel de Carlos is in 3rd place and trails Jolynne by just 68 page views. Shelly Barclay is still very much alive in 4th place, trailing by Jolynne by 465 page views. Kristen Wilkerson is still within eyesight and trails Jolynne by 750 page views.
Update: Page Views at the end of August 13, 2009
Commentary:
It is official Kayla Wardlow wins the Gold Medal in the Race to 20,000 Page Views: #1. She took the lead on August 7, 2009 and never looked back. Don't forget this race will continue until there is a Silver Medal and Bronze Medal winner. Kayla Wardlow scored a double victory today, because she also received the most page views, during the contest period. I will continue to track the total page views until a Silver and Bronze Medal winner are officially announced, Currently, behind Kayla there are three Contributors bunched closed together. Jolynee Hudnell is in 2nd place, trailing by 5,795 page views. Rachel de Carlos is in 3rd place and trails by 5,976 page views and Shelly Barclay is in 4th place, trailing by 6,164 page views.

Update: Page Views at the end of August 12, 2009
Commentary:
Now I am no Nostradamus, but unless something odd and eerie unfolds in this contest, it appears that Kayla Wardlow is ready to claim the Gold Medal in the race to 20,000 page views. She now leads by 3,654 page views and needs just 765 page views to reach the 20,000 page view goal line. This could happen as soon as the daily page views update tomorrow. Shelly Barclay still remains in 2nd place and Karen Jurewicz is still 3rd, trailing by 5,383 page views. However, Rachel de Carlos and Jolynne Hudnell are making noise in moving up to the 4th and 5th places respectively and soon they could be challenging for either the Silver or Bronze Medals.
In the total page views, during the contest period, it appears that Kayla Wardlow is poised to claim victory here too. The closest Contributor trails her by 3,627 page views. This Contributor is Rachel de Carlos and she has been steadily climbing the ranks. Jolynne Hudnell is also rocking lately and is now in 3rd, trailing by 3,771 page views. Update: Page Views at the end of August 3, 2009
Commentary:
On the day that Shelly Barclay is named one of Associated Content's Rising Stars for July of 2009 it fitting that she wrestles the lead the away from Karen Jurewicz. They are close with Shelly leading Karen by just 40 page views. They are the only two contributors over 13,000 page views. Kayla Wardlow is in 3rd trailing Shelly by 609 page views.

Karen Jurewicz is still on top. With her update to 13,025, she is first Contributor in this race to break 13,000 page views. However, Shelly Barclay is still on her heels with 12,833. Kayla Wardlow is a close third at 12,410. Marie Anne St. Jean broke the 10,000 page views. Rachael de Carlos had a nice day and was able to move up a spot, passing Langley Cornwell.

Update: Page Views at the end of July 31, 2009:
Commentary:
As you can see, everyone is still fairly even. I still believe anyone can win the race to 20,000 page views. Shelly Barclay became the second Contributor to pass 12,000 page view and has cut ever so slightly into Karen Jurewicz.'s lead. With over 11,000 page views Kayla Wardlow is close too. Kristen Wilkerson and Han Van Meegerin are both over 10,000 page views and they are in 4th and 5th place respectively.
Shelly Barclay is the early pace setter in the total page views for the contest period, but Marie Ann St. Jean, Kristen Wilkerson, Karen Jurewicz and Jolynne M. Hudnell are all within 100 page views of Shelly.
Initial Page Views as of July 31, 2009:
Commentary:
As you can see, everyone is fairly even. I believe anyone can win the race to 20,000 page views.
Karen Jurewicz starts in the pole position. With her 12,356 page views, she is the only candidate over 12,000 page views. However, Sherry Barclay is close at 11,951 page views. Kayla Wardlow is also a close 3rd with 11,748 page views. There also two Contributors over 10,000 page views. So it looks we will have a nice race on our hands.
I believe everyone here is capable of gaining the most page views during the contest period.
Remember, have some fun with this. Use this to motivate yourself and support your peers. One thing is for sure, in the end, we will all have more page views.
Recently, I made an announcement in the Associated Content Forum in a thread titled, Race to 20,000 page views. Basically, I mentioned that I was seeking all Associated Contributors with less than 12,000 page views that were interested in participating in a friendly competition with their peers to see who could reach 20,000 page views first. I have decided to allow those Associated Content Contributors that have between 12,000-13,000 page views and are interested in participating in this race to enter the competition.
Actually, there will be two sets of winners. The first set of winners (Gold, Silver and Bronze) will be those Associated Content Contributors who reach 20,000 page views first, second and third. The second winner will be the Associated Content Contributor who receives the most page views for the duration of the contest. The official start state will be July 31, 2009. Those Contributors that will be initially included will be those who indicate that they would like to participate by either posting in the forum thread, posting a comment on this article or messaging me prior to 12AM Mountain Time on 8/1/2009.
I will reiterate that is not meant to be a cut throat competition, but rather a method to help, motivate and cheer each other on to 20,000 page views. I encourage commenting on this article as it updated. However, anyone that comments in a manner that is disrespectful to the process, another Associated Content Contributor, Associated Content or me will be deleted. I welcome your input with this matter. However, I alone will reserve the right to determine if a comment needs to be deleted
I will attempt update this page daily with the newest daily page view totals. You can usually find out your new total page view count by updating your profile each morning. If possible, please message your numbers to me when you know your updated total page views. If you cannot do this, I will check the numbers manually.
With such short notice, please notify other Associated Content Contributors that meet the eligibility requirement, those that have less than 13,000 page views that this contests exists. As long as an Associated Content Contributor meets the page view requirements, I will allow them to join the competition until 12AM Mountain time on August 3, 2009. I will have to be notified in a manner that I described above. To determine the second winner (the total number of page views for the duration of the contest) the total page views will be prorated from when a Contributor enters the competition.
Please stop back later for the next update. The next update will include information pertaining to the initial group of participating Associated Contributors.

Thanks for this update, Han!
Woot! Congrats Rachel and Jolynne!
This was so much fun Han!
Good luck to all!!!
I'm a little embarrassed to comment, being neck and neck with Jolynne, and all. This is pretty exciting, though... like a horse race.
You do such a great job at all of these contests, Han!
