The film story goes as a former star racing car driver and also ex-convict Jack Bruno (Dwayne Johnson) is nowadays a modern day cab driver in Las Vegas and poorly living out of a cheesy motel mostly picking up "weird" passengers and taking them to Hollywood Planet's casino and on site UFO conventions. One day Jack picks up the beautiful and gorgeous middle aged Dr. Alex Freidman (Carla Gugino), a somewhat failed scientist in the theories of UFOs. (Because she never had any physical proof of extraterrestrial existence).
Jack tries to put the "make on her" during their cab ride together, without any luck, lets her out and then he decides to get out of his cab for a few moments and then reluctantly returns only to find these two loving teenage children Sara and Seth approx. 13 and 14 years of age in the back seat of his cab. "They scare the crap" out of this big muscle guy Jack! Because they just came out of Nowhere?" A beautiful long blond young girl and boy whom seemed to immediately know exactly where they were headed to regarding their final destination here on earth? (Both talking like voice animated computers).
"Or at least they thought regarding their alien co-ordinates here on this planet we call earth?" Using a small hand held electronic device similar to a GPS or Ipod cell phone out of the back seat of this yellow cab. They tell Jack to just keep driving, because we have plenty of money, comically "flashing a gigantic roll of cash over the front seat in front of Jack's eyes!" Poor and broke Jack Bruno ("The Rock") cab driver eventually drives hundreds of miles into the dessert and finally stops exhaustedly to ask after driving for so many hours?
"Where are your parents?" They replied to Jack: "You wouldn't understand?" Please just keep driving. We will pay you!" Out into the dessert of nowhere land. POOR, confused and frustrated, but kindhearted Jack keeps ironically driving? Young alien Sara suddenly says out of the back seat of the yellow cab "Somebody is following us Jack?" Apparently, the bad guys from the Wolff corporation are trying to find these two alien children, who know all the secrets of their unfortunate landed crashed spaceship shown during the beginning of this lovable Disney film", that nobody can seem to figure out how to operate here on earth?
Expert racing car driver/cab driver Jack Bruno, "that never takes any crap from anybody" seems to overcome these "bad guys" in their black vehicles, thus, causing incredible chase scenes of over turning vehicles, bullets roaring through windows, bombs exploding at times etc. Luckily, no one was hurt during these impossible action/adventure scenes, especially the dog called "Junkyard" which the two back seat alien children could always talk to, which made this an "excellent family film of adventure and excitement" for everyone.
Young short blond headed male Seth has the power to place any parts of his body through any material object found on our planet earth. The beautiful long blond headed teenage female Sara has the ability to move earth objects using her mind and hands. 36 year old cab driver Jack Bruno (Dwayne Johnson) asked them how they could do this while driving his torn up yellow cab down the road? "It's called learning to focus your mind, which earthlings will someday understand!" Jack suddenly and comically thinks in his mind? These two alien children have crashed into Witch Mountain? "DUH!"
Which is one of the things that made this modern day Disney family film called "Race to Witch Mountain" a much more comical and enjoyable episode in life! This family film reminds you of the original "Terminator" at times, because of the gigantic cyborg called a "Siphon" searching to and destroy these two children aliens that have came to our planet we call earth, although they had unfortunately crashed into, because of their dying planet seeking a NEW environment elsewhere in the universe.
This fun family film continues with all the excitement using exceptional modern graphic visual effects, versus the original "Escape to Witch Mountain" starring Eddie Albert in the 1975 version. Especially the part using the big comic RV. Which made this film this much "Hilarious" during the mid-scenes of this story or plot, which could possibly continue for family entertainment for years to come, especially if they can get the "Rock" to play this part in future sequels.
I personally would NOT recommend this film called "Race to Witch Mountain" for viewing audiences under 12 years of age, because of the violent vehicle accidents and also "The Rock" using his skills as a professional big screen theater wrestler at times of needed violence, which looks "real for any audience at any age". Although, this lovable film has NO abusive language or nudity, it should be rated PG. "It's well worth the big bucks in the modern theaters to see!"
