And wait

The silence engulfs us
And still I wait

Afraid to move

To hit the floor
And be trampled upon
By the tiny drum roll of screaming feet

Oblivious to my presence

The party ended long ago
The guests are home asleep

Yet here we are

In soundless communication
Listening to our misshapen dirge
Playing softly in the background

It's amazing
