Yahoo Movies reports that "Jackie" will cover the following days of John's assassination and Jackie's burying the nation's beloved president. Even though John Kennedy led a far more colorful life than most other United States presidents - his family had strong ties with both the Mafia and the Vatican - the film will definitely concentrate on Jackie's life, the emotions she had to contend with, not to mention her children who were also deeply affected by their father's untimely death. Weisz is a dead ringer for Jackie, closely resembling the former first lady herself, with her brunette hair and dark eyes. Weisz even has the same facial shape as Jackie did so she will have little trouble physically resembling her. The one thing Weisz will have to concentrate on is her voice: being British, she will be practicing the role of Jackie with an American accent.
Darren Aronofsky will be producing and directing "Jackie" and like the Kennedys, has nepotism going for him: Weisz is also his partner and together have a young son, Henry Chance Aronofsky. All Darren has to do is add his son into the movie as one of the Kennedy family offspring and he is all set. Darren and Rachel worked together in the 2006 film "The Fountain"which is a fantasy film spread over a thousand years, documenting the human condition over the centuries. The film was nominated for both the Saturn and Golden Globe awards.
While Darren is still looking for a film distributor, it is expected that "Jackie" will be a stunning portrayal of a quiet, elegant lady who has managed to win the hearts of those who are not the biggest Kennedy fans on earth. While some Americans may seem hesitant about a British actress in the role of Jackie Kennedy, others will be happy enough to see a top quality film about her so that younger generations will know who she is, and why she had such a huge impact on American culture when she was alive.
