Recently, there was an online hoax that suggested that McDonalds was discriminating against African American customers causing a PR nightmare for the well know Golden arch company. Over the Weekend, the image you see above was circulating around the net like wildfire. The picture shows a document that looks rather official in a McDolands window that is telling African American customers that they will be charged $1.50 extra "as an insurance measure due in part to recent string of robberies."
There were allot of twitter users that retweeted this image saying "seriously Mcdonald's," expressing their disapproval with the company. As a result, the company responded with this tweet on Saturday saying: "That pic is senseless & Ignorant hoax McD's values ALL our customers. Diversity runs deep in our culture on both sides of the counter." Of course, the initial tweet didn't work, and the company had to send out a second tweet saying "That seriously Mcdonalds pictures is a hoax." It's hard to say how many people still think that the image is still real. It seems as if the classic company has been taking hit after hit these days, most recent being the crossgendered women being beat down due to her sexuality. It isn't too clear who actually created the image but it seems that it first showed up in the popular 4chan message board, which is known for many negative and deragatory accounts but there is no doubt that the image is fake because the number given at the bottom of the sign is the number for Kentucky Fried Chicken.
