Racism and Voter Disenfranchisement; Exposing the Liberal Myth - Again

It is as predictable as a new Democrat pre-election entitlement program. With the approach of every election cycle, Democrats begin their battle cries of Republican voter disenfranchisement to distract the American populace from their behind-the-scenes efforts to engage in voter registration fraud and disenfranchisement.

At a recent Campus Progress conference in Washington, former President Bill Clinton carried the indoctrination water to those treasured politically gullible youth they hope to count on again in 2012. He informed the reality challenged liberal trainees of how the dastardly Republicans in the state many refer to as Blue Hampshire were waging war on their fellow college peeps by preventing them from voting in their college towns unless they could prove previous residency.

Never mind that Democrats established rules requiring long term district residency and frequent re-registration to prevent blacks from voting from anywhere in the early 1900s. To make it even more difficult for blacks to vote Democrats imposed regulations that required registering voters to supply a specific street address knowing full well that most black neighborhoods didn't have street names and house numbers. For those blacks who managed to jump the many Democrat hurdles meant to discourage them from registering, Democrat registrars would simply invoke their emergency discretionary decision policy to deny them the right to vote anyway.

Clinton was especially sure to call out Florida Gov. Rick Scott for his effort to overturn a state precedent that allows convicted felons to vote after their probation period ends.

"Why should we disenfranchise people forever once they've paid their price?" Clinton asked. "Because most of them in Florida were African Americans and Hispanics who tended to vote for Democrats, that's why."

After decades of slavery and the violent efforts of Democrats to prevent them from embracing freedom, one would think that African Americans had "paid their price." Isn't it clever how Democrats can distract you from their history of minority suppression while creating the illusion of standing up their rights?

"There has never been in my lifetime, since we got rid of the poll tax and all the Jim Crow burdens on voting, the determined effort to limit the franchise that we see today," Clinton added.

Republicans got rid of poll taxes. Poll taxes were a Democrat invention in the late 1800s to discourage blacks and poor whites from voting. They established laws that required citizens to pay all back taxes in order to vote. While the taxes - the Democrat default for punishing their enemies or funding their agenda - of $1-$2 per year may seem trivial by today's standards. However it was a sum well beyond the means of many poor black and white sharecroppers back then who relied on bartering rather than cash to make their living.

The poll tax Democrats imposed in Georgia alone cut white voter turnout by as much as 28%, and slashed black voter turnout in half. Since there is no record of any state suit being filed against any individual for failure to pay the tax, the purpose of the tax had less to do with the collection of revenue and more to do with a Democrat effort to prevent those they deemed to be undesirables from participating in the American election process.

Of course, the Jim Crow talking point was devoutly echoed by the delightfully delusional and impeccably inaccurate DNC cheerleader, Debbie Wasserman Shultz.

"You have the Republicans, who want to literally drag us all the way back to Jim Crow laws and literally -- and very transparently -- block access to the polls to voters who are more likely to vote for Democratic candidates than Republican candidates," Debbie protested.

You know the Jim Crow laws. Surely some Democrat has explained them to you. The Jim Crow laws were those insidious and nationally shameful laws, which kept African Americans from attending public schools and from taking public transportation. Jim Crow laws prohibited African Americans from entering public restaurants and rest rooms and from drinking from public water fountains or going to public beaches or any other public gathering place where an African American might want to go in the Democrat's "whites only" world.

Of the 26 major votes after 1933, Democrats opposed civil rights legislation by over 80 percent. Republicans favored civil rights bills in over 96 percent of the votes.

Shortly after her enthusiastic header into the Jim Crow discussion, Debbie did the back stroke, confessing that the reference may have been a bit of a "wrong analogy." Perhaps that's because Jim Crow was a democrat as were the politicians who played a part in creating and passing his laws and too much light on the subject might reveal the truth they have kept carefully hidden for so long.

In a discussion about civil rights; give a Democrat five minutes and they'll make their way to the "Jim Crow Laws" faster than a game of six degrees to Kevin Bacon. Give a Democrat two minutes and they will reflexively resort to the word "slavery" or "racist" and eviscerate any Republican that currently threatens them in a single breath. Give a Democrat a lifetime and they will never admit to participation in or accept responsibility for the length and embarrassing breadth of the African American struggle to simply be welcomed as a legitimate and respected American.

According to the National Black Republican Association, civil rights activists; Frederick Douglass, Mary McLeod Behune, A, Philip Randolph, Harriet Tubman, Sojourner Truth, Ida B. Wells, Marry Terrell, Dr, Martin Luther King, Jr. (as is his daughter Alveda) were Republicans.

Just think of it. Imagine the history we would never have known had the Democrats not been so determined to have their way. Had Democrats not fought so hard to maintain the "whites only" section in the front of a bus, the fame of Rosa Parks might never have escaped the borders of Montgomery, Alabama.

The sweeping adoption of many states to impose laws requiring residents to show a photo ID in order to prove they are who they say they are is a major source of Democrat irritation. According to Huffpost, 20 states have already enacted photo ID laws that will affect the upcoming 2012 election with "14 states considering adapting previously existing laws to require photo ID at the polls."

Democrats are so incensed over the new Republican photo ID measure to prevent voter fraud that, according to Huffpost, Michael Bennet (D-Colo.) and 15 lemming Democratic senators sent a letter to Democrat Attorney General Eric Holder demanding that the loyal Department of Justice look into these "controversial laws."

"These measures have the potential to block millions of eligible American voters without addressing any problem commensurate with this kind of restriction on voting rights," the letter charged. "These laws are a solution in search of a problem."

Respectfully, sirs, was this "solution in search of a problem" a reference to something legitimate or simply a desperate realization that Republicans learned how to circumvent the traditional pre-election liberal tactics of voter registration and voter fraud? Could it be that Democrats are worried knowing that ACORN has lost their funding and will not be participating in the registrations of such disenfranchised voters as dead people, Disney characters, 7-year-old females, clones who depend on ACORN for cigarettes and cash, imaginary playmates, convicted felons, a variety of sports figures, politicians and Hollywood actors who live in Washington, D.C., homeless shelters during an election cycle, which most polls indicate will be devastating for Democrats?

The question one should ask when a Democrat begins their dissertation of this sinister Republican plot to disenfranchise minority, senior and poor voters is this; if showing an ID is such an evidently racist and oppressive act then why are there no laws preventing the requirement of a photo ID to purchase alcohol, to sign a contract, drive a car, to buy a car or a house and to open a bank account or cash a check or to get married and change the names on your accounts and mortgage documents and to lawfully engage in the pursuit of happiness through pretty much any other significant choice of commitment one might make in one's life?

"Why is all of this going on?" Clinton queried the students, who dutifully waited for him to give them the answer. "This is not rocket science," he relieved them of the effort of thinking for themselves. "They are trying to make the 2012 electorate look more like the 2010 electorate than the 2008 electorate."

Well, not quite, Mr. Clinton.

You see, the 2010 mid-term Republican landslide came after Americans had only four years of screw-ups by a Democrat controlled House and Senate to think about as they stepped into the voting booth. What you are afraid of now is that the 2012 primaries will also reflect America's intensified sentiments regarding the four years of crippling incompetence displayed by your Democrat president.

The panic must be epic.
