Radiation Exposure
Natural therapies were used in Chernobyl and Hiroshima so we have track records. Basically, when deficient in iodine, the body grabs radioactive iodine from radiation exposure. Unfortunately, "94.7% of Americans are deficient in inorganic iodine," according to Dr. David Brownstein.
Iodine requirements are higher than 50 years ago because of increased radiation exposure from cell phones, x-rays, power lines and other facets of modern technology. So, the first step is to ensure adequate iodine intake.
Radiation Safety
Dr. Guy Abraham's research indicates 13mg/day prevents approximately 96% of radioactive iodine from binding to the thyroid gland. This is the approximate dosage of iodine ingested daily by Japanese which is over 100 times the average daily dose ingested by Americans.
Every cell in our body requires iodine for optimal functioning. Therefore, when iodine deficient, exposure to radioactive iodine can potentially result in damage to all the cells of the body.
Organic Iodine
Iodized salt won't work. It takes 5 cups per day to equal the iodine content in one KI tablet. By taking 5 grams of spirulina a day for 45 days, the Institute of Radiation Medicine in Minsk, found children show enhanced immune systems and T-cell counts and reduced radioactivity.
The Institute also reported regeneration of bone marrow, spinal fluids, blood and the liver. Dangerously low white blood cell counts of about 1000, typical of leukemia, rose to an average of 3000 in 20 days. And the spirulina produced rapid improvements in the health of treated children compared to others who did not receive it.
In particular, spirulina reduced urine radioactivity levels by 50% in only 20 daystime. So, the Institute developed a special program to treat 100 children every 20 days with spirulina. Amazingly, health restoration was reported even when radiation sickness was so advanced the children's eyeballs bulged out of their sockets. Furthermore, the healing occurred during the continuous presence of radiation as well as the presence of radiation contaminated food and water sources.
Other Sources of Organic Iodine
Salt from the Great Salt Lake in Utah, brown seaweed and cabbage (according to Russian scientists) are all good for radiation exposure. Author Steven Schecter says: "There is no family of foods more protective against radiation and environmental pollutants than sea vegetables."
The U.S. Atomic Energy Commission recommends two to three ounces of sea vegetables per week, or two tablespoons daily to protect from radiation toxicity. This should be increased fourfold during or after direct exposure to radiation (US Dept Health and Human Services. "Dietary aspects of carcinogenesis," Nov. 1981).
Cancer Protection and Treatment
The Institute of Health Sciences, Baltimore , MD, found lemon is a miraculous product to kill cancer cells. It is 10,000 times stronger than chemotherapy. Coupled with sufficient amounts of iodine and lemon consumption, radiation safety is easily available.
