Radio Free Texas has recently updated their website and has a variety of useful features. The message board, chat room, and live, free music are some of the best. Upon registering for a free account with Radio Free Texas, you have access to all these features, including being able to chat with other members and the founders of the station, requesting the music you want to hear, and even chatting with the artists themselves.
A live special feature that takes place on Monday and Tuesday evenings on the website, called The Backstage Pass, showcases an artist every week, plays their entire album from start to finish, and any registered member can access the chat area and converse directly with the artist that is being featured.
Radio Free Texas also has periodic surveys and contests. An annual trip, called the Rowdy Float Trip, is an open invitation event to Radio Free Texas listeners. The event features a weekend of fun in the sun, floating down the Guadalupe River in Texas, while taking in the music from 20 or 30 Texas artists and bands. Located in New Braunfels, the next Rowdy Float Trip is set for the first part of June.
The Radio Free Texas website also features an event calendar, news, reviews, merchandise, a photo gallery, an FAQ and more. There is never a charge to listen to the music being played on Radio Free Texas, and the site features an interactive table that contains the current artist, song, and album being played, as well as a list of upcoming music. Though certain times of the day are peak, a song can be requested at any time from their extensive playlist. The discussion forums and private message features are also accessible to anyone registered with a free account. There are frequent on-air interviews with various artists, and many log onto the chat room, loving to chat with friends and fans.
You can check out the FAQ section of the website to find general information and even find out how you can listen to the music playing on Radio Free Texas via your cell phone. After listening to Radio Free Texas you may understand why this internet radio station has a very loyal and devoted fan base, and continues to gain state, national and international popularity.
