Rage Against the Machine Reunites for Music Festival

The popular rock group Rage Against the Machine reunited after being out of the music scene for several years. Their reunion took place during the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in California. Rage Against the Machine was popular in the 90's with radical motivated music and antics. The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival attracted over 60,000 fans despite the 100 plus degree weather. Rage Against the Machine's reunion was the most anticipated performance of this three-day festival.

This year marks the eighth edition of the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. Rage Against the Machine also headlined the festival's first edition in 1999. The group separated when member Zack de la Rocha left to start a solo career. He cited creative differenced upon leaving Rage Against the Machine. His solo career is not as successful as that of Rage Against The Machine.

The remaining members formed Audioslave with Chris Cornell. During their united performance, Rage Against the Machine maintained their anti-establishment position, comparing the current U.S. administration to Nazi war criminals. The front man of Rage Against The Machine stated that the administration should "be shot as any other war criminal should be". The rock group performed hit songs including "Killing in The Name" and "Guerilla Radio". Rage Against The Machine will be appearing at the Rock the Bells hip-hop festival later this summer.

The group has not made any long term plans beyond this appearance. According to a representative of Zack de la Rocha, the group member will not be commenting on Rage Against the Machine's reunion. His solo album has not surfaced and he has made few public statements since Rage Against the Machine split. The group has been said to have reformed the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival.
