sun came down
rows and rows of it
sharp ribbons, cut through the dark
and i ain't never been invaded
like that kind of rude.

set up all on me
all bright and glaring
gaudy little bitch pushing the clouds away
making the rain stop
bleeding warmth.

was a way, once
i could say no
close my eyes, stop my breath long enough
convince her i was gone
nothing here but dark
inside and out
but she don't buy it no more.

nothing i can do now
sun all up in my space
flying dust motes around like glitter and making the flies' wings shine
just lay back and let her take me down
lay back and let her wash me away
somewhere ain't no dark
to kill.
