The Oakland Raiders and the Buffalo Bills enter their tilt Sunday September 18th undefeated and one team will emerge 2-0, leading their division and the other could go in the tank after losing this game. That sounds like an overreaction but this game is critical for both teams psyches moving forward.
Oakland Raiders Defense vs Buffalo Bills Offense
The Oakland Raiders defense is a top ten defense this season if the secondary keeps up with the loss of Nnamdi Asomugha. Many experts downgraded the secondary when Asomugha headed to the Philadelphia Eagles and they are looking to prove they are better than advertised this season.
The front defensive line is an eclectic mix of veterans led by Richard Seymour and youth led by Lamaar Houston. The middle linebacker crew is led by Rolando McClain, a youthful version of Ray Lewis over the middle.
The Buffalo Bills will face the Raiders No 1. run defense with Fred Jackson and C.J. Spiller as their one-two tandem in the backfield. Ryan Fitzpatrick has potential to throw for 300 yards despite losing Lee Evans this year to the Ravens. The Raiders defense will have the edge over the Bills offense.
Buffalo Bills Defense vs Oakland Raiders Offense
The Buffalo Bills defense had their way with AFC West champs, the Kansas City Chiefs in week one of the NFL season but the Chiefs do not look like the team that dominated last season. The Bills shut down the Chiefs offense but the Chiefs looked out of sorts in their first NFL game.
The Raiders will slam the ball up the middle with Darren McFadden and Michael Bush. The Raiders were held below 100 yards passing last weekend in their win on Monday Night Football but their running game was top notch and is ranked No. 2 overall.
The Raiders offense is suited perfectly for this game. The Bills pass defense is strong and their run defense is weak. The Raiders offense will have the edge over the Bills defense.
Oakland Raiders vs Buffalo Bills -3: Pick Against the Spread and Breakdown
The Las Vegas Hilton Superbook has posted the Buffalo Bills as a three-point home favorite over the visiting Oakland Raiders. The Raiders run defense is the key in this game. Both teams will attempt to impose their will on offense but the Raiders running game is one of the best in the NFL.
The Raiders will travel for the second consecutive week but Hue Jackson, the Oakland Raiders head coach, is good at keeping this team focused and he already has a detailed plan to acclimate his players for the Buffalo game. Take the Oakland Raiders plus three points over the Buffalo Bills.
