like water in my heart
like lost loves in my life
like heels on my back
when will it stop
I had stopped at the light and was waiting for it to turn green
I haven't seen her in years but there she was
tall and slender
love
joy
and hate
some people just become part of you
you just can't get them off your skin
We found a place to eat not to far from where
she had glued her self back into my life where
she had locked into my eyes
back to where we had left off
it's so simple to get back to the past
a cheeseburger and caesar salad and a diet coke
she had to ask the waiter what was in the pasta
can you add salmon or chicken? oh boy
here we go, I listened, I looked, I waited
I got to get home, I'll call you, no, really maybe a text
as I pulled away from her home
I thought, if not her, another, if not another
a new one that one day will be just the past.
