Rainbow Stockings

Nick Winters
I can see you,
Seated there on the steps,
You were younger then.

I remember your face,
Your clothes were so unique,
You wore those rainbow stockings.

All the colors of a rainbow,
Brighter than everyone else,
On that gloomy fall day.

Shining forth they were,
As reflections of the colors,
From deep within your heart.

I fell in love with you then,
I could see depp within you,
Through those rainbow stockings.

I saw in you the children,
The love we would share,
The good times together to come.

I saw in you the heartache,
The fearful times ahead,
And getting through it together.

I saw in you forgiveness,
Of everything I am,
You would love me always.

I fell in love with you then,
Through those rainbow stockings,
My love for you grows brighter every day.
