While Rainbow's End focuses on selling jigs, flies and tying materials for both, they have quite a bit of other inventory. They carry at least some selection of other popular lures including plugs, spinners and wobblers. Alongside their finished and pre-made spinners they sell spinner blades and other components so you can build your own. Also, they carry several lines of high quality bait- herring, eggs, sandshrimp, etc. If you are looking for high quality bait, Rainbow's End is a great place to check, as they tend to look over and buy their product with more scrutiny than their larger competitors.
Rainbow's End also offers jig and fly tying lessons and seminars. Although they frequently host scheduled events and classes, they always have staff on hand busy tying jigs, and they are typically more than happy to show you how to tie a particular pattern or offering. Additionally, they do rod and reel repair within the shop. If you have a broken reel, or even one that just needs some servicing, it is a good place to have it done. For those people who are more interested in repairing or servicing reels themselves, Rainbow's End is also a good source of most parts for popular reels produced by major brands.
The downside of a small shop with tons of inventory is that things can get a little cluttered and crowded inside the shop. The upside of a small, privately owned store: prices are mostly aligned with competitors, and if a good deal is available elsewhere, the prices are somewhat "negotiable." Often, mentioning a competitor's price is enough to inspire some wiggle room in the price on the tag. Their willingness to try to satisfy the customer through price is just one more facet of their overall great customer service.
If you are looking for a place where you are guaranteed to get personable service from someone who knows the local fisheries, Rainbow's End Jigs, Flies & Tackle is your place. Say goodbye to wondering through aisles of products that are not practical for local fisheries, and say hello to a small shop, covered wall to wall with the products you need to catch salmon and steelhead. The shop is located at 6300 NE 117th Ave, Vancouver, WA 98662. Call 360-253-7617 for hours of operation and to find out times for scheduled fly and jig tying classes.
