Raindrops
cold like ice
sting my exposed skin.
Raindrops
enlarged with the tears of angels
pelt me like hail.
Raindrops
soak through my clothes
make me seem as if I had just been swimming.
Raindrops
sliding down my cheeks
mingle with my tears.
Raindrops
hide my pain and raw emotion
like the darkness hides me.
Raindrops
glimmer in the summer sun
such an oddity to have rain and sun.
Raindrops
remind me of you
we were an oddity, you and me.
Raindrops
collect in puddles at my feet
like the tears of all the heartbroken.

Post a CommentIt is a beautiful way, of describing the heartache of losing someone. You feel it always, and see it in everything--like the rain. The sadness creates it's own dance and anything can become the music.
It's beautifully written.
Thought: this is a metaphor...right? But for what. Obstacles life throws your way? Loneliness? Fear? Bittersweet instances in life? All of the above? (hope you don't mind me picking your brain).
Great job, Elisa!!
so sad, but well written
