I recently made a cross country move from Seattle, WA to Raleigh, NC and used Rainier Moving and Storage, a contractor of Mayflower, for both my home and car transport. After researching several different companies and comparing cost and convenience of location, Rainier seemed the best choice, and I was not disappointed by my decision. I was extremely satisfied with the customer service, the care of my belongings, and the price.

During my association with Rainier I dealt with several different people and was treated like a valued customer from the first phone call to the final signature on the moving documents. The administrative coordinator was efficient and friendly and always followed up when she said she would. The estimator who came to my home was professional and knowledgeable about the product and service provided and made me feel completely at ease about having my belongings and my car shipped more than 3,000 miles across the country.

Rainier has a very organized system and offers to its customers a moving kit that will help in packing and organization of items as well as the offer of free boxes located in their warehouse. I utilized several of those boxes and it was a huge help, as it's never easy to find the right sized boxes for a move, especially in large quantities. The movers also have an efficient tagging system to make sure that nothing gets lost in the shuffle. I was grateful for this, as I had more than my share to keep track of and would have had no idea if it all arrived if not for their tagging system.

The administrative coordinator kept in contact with me frequently always letting me know immediately if there was any information I needed to be informed of that would make the move easier and less stressful for me. I had some trouble trying to coordinate dates, because I was going on a two week vacation upon leaving Seattle and would not be arriving in North Carolina at the same time as my belongings. The company was very accommodating with both the arrival of my car and my furniture and made sure the vacation would not be a problem.

There was a slight problem that we did not anticipate, and even this was handled with professionalism. It seemed that my apartment complex was not large enough to have the moving truck come in, so they had to rent a U-haul to move my things to a warehouse and then load them on the truck. This was done in both the departing and arriving complex. I was charged for this U-haul in both places which came to $300. Upon arriving in my new complex, the driver realized that he was able to get in, so he told me I would be receiving a credit for the rental. It was offered before I had to ask for it, and I was credited within a week.

A move anywhere is stressful, even if it's across the street. Moving across the country can be a nightmare if not handled by a professional moving company. I have nothing but good things to say about both Mayflower and Rainier Moving and Storage and would recommend both companies without hesitation for both short and long distance moves.

Mayflower I was aware of and U Haul as well. Rainer is another to keep in mind if they are available in my area. Thank you for the heads up on a good company.
