There are several ways that you can volunteer for RAINN. Some of the ways is to staff at a local hotline. Perhaps working at your local rape crisis center is another way that you could volunteer. You could also raise money and even awareness, specifically at your local college campus where there are campaigns set up.
You can volunteer by working online at the new sexual assault online hotline. This is a chat like atmosphere that helps victims who need to talk to someone. It's a new program, but it is good for us who have children and an extremely busy life and just cannot actually go out and volunteer, like they would love to. I just filled out the form to volunteer, online. It is a simple form, asking just a few basic questions. There is a training class that you must attend as well. Click this link to go straight to the form if you are like me and tend to get impatient.
College women are four times more likely to be raped. There are RAINN campaignes that are set up in certain colleges where you can volunteer your time. If you are a college student, you can get involved in the outreach program. Guys are encouraged to get involved as well!! Colleges raise money and awareness especially on RAINN Day, which will be on September 24, this year.
There are several other ways that you can become involved as well. Become a supporter with financial support and awareness. You can become an affiliate or help to improve public policy to see that our victims are treated fairly during trials. If you are an actual sexual assault victim, you can make a difference by sharing your story with others for encouragement as well as inspiration. You can become involved by writing a column in their newsletter as well.
If volunteering for RAINN for those who have been sexually abused, is something that you may love to do, please go to the resource box to your right and click the link there.

This is important and valuable information. Thanks for sharing this!
Hey Mike - yep it's disgusting and males being sexually assaulted seems to be a hush hush thing, when it happens all the time. It's one of those things that infuriates me. How someone can take another's dignity. They are PIGS and need serious help!!!!
Very valuable info!
Great spreading the word.
Excellent, eye-opening article, and thank you for mentioning that men can be sexually abused, too; mostly at the hands of other men. In either case, it isn't about sex, but about dominance; male animals within their hierarchies do it to each other to remind everyone of who's boss. When a human being does this, however, they are less than animals, because they know better (or at least they oughta)!
