Rainy Day Activities for Kids

Coming up with rainy day activities for kids can be a lot of fun. If you find yourself inside trying to come up with ways to keep bored kids happy on a rainy day, here are some fun rainy-day activities for kids that will be enjoyable for everyone:

Movie day: Rent a fun family movie and purchase some candy or pop some popcorn. Turn off all of the lights and watch the movie together. There are some kid movies out there that are enjoyable for the whole family. After the movie you can have them create a story board and recreate the movie for you as a rainy-day activity.

Baking Day: Get the kids involved in the kitchen and have them help you bake homemade cookies on a rainy day. Baking is an exciting thing for younger children and it's a great rainy-day activity to keep them occupied. Plus, they will get to enjoy eating some of those goodies after they are done!

Board games: Get the family together to have a day of playing board games with each other. This is a great rainy-day activity that will bring the whole family together for fun and laughter.

Measure the rain: One of my children's favorite rainy day activities is to measure the amount of rain that falls. Draw lines indicating a half inch, along the inside of a bowl. Set the bowl outside and measure how much rain has fallen each hour.
