Rainy Day Fun: Strawberry Jell-o Wall Painting

It never fails that when you are stuck inside with small children, you quickly run out of things to do. So we get pretty creative, and admittedly a little messy. On one particularly gross, rainy day last fall, I decided to let my twins get super gross. It was right before their bath and they'd had an early dinner, so I pulled out some jell-o that I had made the day before. It was just your general strawberry jell-o. I cut it into little blocks and then laid out some regular white printer paper.

It was really fun for a while, they were eating the jell-o, chasing it around the paper making streaks, getting it in their hair, and of course on the floor. This whole time I'm cleaning up the kitchen, and not really paying as much attention as I should be to the girls.

Turning in that direction, that's when I see it. They've rubbed red jell-o all over my kitchen walls. So I immediately run over and move the chairs away, and assess the situation. I start scrubbing, and scrubbing, and it's not coming off. I ended up having to use a mix of vinegar and soap to get it to come off, and for a while there was still a bit of a stain.

This is definitely something fun that I would try with the kids again, but I will make sure that they are out of touching range next time!
