Raising Multiples: John and Kate Plus 8
The Gosselin family has a TV show that airs on TLC and the Discovery Health Channel. The show is called "John and Kate Plus 8" and it showcases the daily life of this unique family.
John and Kate were unable to conceive because of a battle with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS). After deciding to see a fertility doctor, Kate became pregnant with her twin girls-Cara and Madelyn. John claims that he felt that life was good and complete at this point. But Kate had an itch to parent one more child. She was able to convince John to give the fertility treatments one more round. It was then that she conceived what she thought to be triplets. The couple had already decided that they wouldn't selective reduce the children, so they were fine with that number. Another ultrasound left the parents speechless and in tears, however. The idea of having six children was scary, but the John and Kate believed that everything would work out fine.
Looking at their family today, you can see that everything is fine...and chaotic. John works out of the home while Kate takes on the fulltime role of raising her eight children. John admits that he would not trade places with Kate for anything. Her job is hard. However, she manages her household like a professional. She has tons of notes hanging throughout her house that helps everyone to stay organized. She plans every part of their day and admits that she goes overboard on the organizational part. Truth be told, Kate seems to manage her household better than parents of single children.
The interesting thing about John and Kate is that they seem like an ordinary couple. On "John and Kate Plus 8" it seems that you get to see the real side of the couple. They admit their faults openly and even have small arguments on camera. John is admittedly more laid back than Kate who likes control. It's amusing to watch the way the couple balances their personality and works together to raise their children. It seems as if they are a unit when it comes to parenting and that the primary focus of their lives is to raise their children.
All couples could learn a thing or two from John and Kate. Despite their hectic lives of raising 2 six-year-olds and 6 two-year-olds, they find time to go out on dates and keep the romance alive in their relationship. Each night after the kids are in asleep they spend time just talking and having fun with each other.
If you haven't seen the show already, you should check it out. You'll laugh and learn a lot from this amazing family.

I just wanted to tell you that my son use to chew on corners of his pillow case and on his shirt collers. I always thought it was his nerves. his pillow cases was always faded. and he would hold them with his fingers and then his finger nails started to get fungus on and under them and was staying soft and dissapearing . . the air and being wet caued a fungus to set uner his nails . and we are not dirty people . but it looked aughful so I just wanted to tell them that cause the episode of the zoo was on this week end . and it reminded me of my son he was about 5 I think and we had a really hard time getting him to stop. but never the less he is grown and has children of his own to care for and has all his fingers. lol
I really like watching these bright energetic children. They are well behaved and smart. Some people can get pregnant at the drop of a hat, think about the ones that can't! I wish they would of had all these medical procedures when I wanted children. I know Kate works hard but, she has to not be so critical of Jon. She tells him not to interupt and then does it it to him. I really hope that they do another season...I want to see what the kids are up to.

Hi, I two have multiples. I have treplets girls. They are 7 months old now, Believe me it is hard. I really admire you all as a family.Keep up the good work. I would like to talk to u sometime.Im sure u could give me some good advice.

Why if you are married, is multiples glorified..The new mom of 8 is unfairly being vilified. Where is the father who donated the sperm, not paying child support.??How about all ehe illegals that have kid after kid, and our taxes pay for it.?Why are they not getting death threats?
Crazy people wants to make money from having that many kids. Why would you want 6 kids at one time? If she only want one more child she would have not put that many eggs in the procedure. This couple is a stupid example of why the octuplet happen. I think they should cut the show and let them work and provide for their 8 kids. I personally refuse to watch such a show.
