Ralph Kovel, Antiques Expert, Passes Away After Brief Illness
Ralph and his wife/business partner, Terry, are well-known names to anyone who seriously loves and collects antiques. Each year's edition of Kovel's Antiques & Collectibles Price List is anxiously awaited and considered a reliable resource for collectors. The book is often carried along to antique shows, auctions, and flea markets by antique collectors looking for treasures. Since its first edition, this best-selling book has sold over three million copies.
Ralph and Terry Kovel were not educated in antiques, art, or writing at the beginning of their career. As a newly married couple furnishing their first apartment on a budget, they became obsessed with antiques and collectibles and became lifelong collectors. Their plain style of writing and wide interests made antique collecting a passion that even us common folk could indulge in.
In addition to the yearly edition of the Kovel's Antiques & Collectibles Price List, Ralph and Terry Kovel have produced over 100 books and special reports on antiques and collectibles. Their newsletter keeps collectors and antique lovers up to date on the latest trends and prices in the antique market, gives valuable information on frauds and fakes, the latest auction news, and tips on caring for our antiques and collectibles. A weekly column is distributed to over 150 newspapers and the Kovels have been guests on countless TV and radio shows. The couple also wrote the collections section for the Enyclopedia Brittanica.
Kovels.com, as well as their newsletters and other publications, will continue to provide information to antique collectors with the help of Terry Kovel, her family, and staff. Ralph will be sorely missed by those of us who shared his love of antiques.

Since I know you love antiques, it was especially nice to see you cover this. I noticed the obituary notice and honestly thought there was a chance you'd write about this.. I always liked to see them on tv and thought he and his wife were adorable together, lively and very friendly for viewers :)
