The Hope 4 Bridget Foundation is a foundation that raises funds to help little Bridget Rose a 6 year old girl who is fighting Batten disease and other children struggling with Batten Disease.
Batten disease is named after the British who first described the disease Frederick Batten. The disease was first described back in 1903 yet most people are completely un-aware of the disease. Batten disease is a Neuronal Ceroid Lipofuscinoses disorder and is the most common one. In layman's terms it is a disorder that over time, affected children suffer mental impairment, seizures, and progressive loss of sight and motor skills. Eventually, children with Batten Disease/NCL become blind, bedridden, and unable to communicate and it is presently always fatal. It is not contagious fortunately, but unfortunately it is not preventable.
Adorable little Bridget Rose's symptoms started when she was about 3 1/2 years old. To read Bridget's story you can go here: http://www.hope4bridget.com/our-story
As you can see this is a very worthwhile fund raiser that will help a family and a little girl with a heartbreaking disorder.
