Ramapo Senior Citizen Center Halloween Party of October 2011
Senior Center Halloween Party Costume Parties Are Fun!
My hubby and I had a blast at the Ramapo Senior Center on Friday, October 28, 2011. From the lady banana greeting guests and serving in the kitchen to the group of dalmatians with "Cruella de Ville" and the dog catcher, eveyone had a blast! My hubby and I came in third place in the costume contest--he in his Caesar costume, and I in my pirate lady costume. We won a Shoprite giftcard which is very practical for a gift. From the minestrone soup with Italian and rye breads, salad, and biscotti crackers with biscotti spread, everyone enjoyed themselves, and the chocolate frosted cake was delicious too! A guest in a black hooded cloak with blinking green lighted eyes won in the contest along with the dalmatian group.
We made friends with a former president from one of the other local senior centers and his wife and enjoyed their conversation too. Many guests were joking about costumes and who they didn't recognize. The manager was also telling everyone about other upcoming holiday parties and other activities in the center. The former president invited us to join another center and meet other new people there as well. We danced around a bit in our costumes to the "Monster Mash" and had a great time.
The weather for the party was grand--cool and sunny! I consider the Halloween parties to be the opening of the season's celebrations! We're looking forward to Thanksgiving parties at the senior centers next. As soon as I got home, I loaded my Halloween Center party pictures on my computer and emailed them out as planned plus I posted a couple on Facebook. Hope to see many of you at the next party!
