Rambo's Still Got it After All These Years

If your were a Rambo fan in the days of First Blood, Rambo II and Rambo III then you will not be disappointed in the new Sylvester Stallone movie, Rambo. He may be older in years but he's still the tough, knife-toting, neck-breaking, shoot-em-up Rambo that we all knew and loved. So, if you are on the fence as to whether or not to see the new Rambo - I suggest you do. You won't be disappointed.

In the new Rambo, John Rambo is living in Thailand, catching cobras and pythons for snake fighting and catching fish from his boat to distribute to the hungry locals. He still has the great hair, the muscular body and the sneer that makes him both loveable and scary all at once. When American missionaries get caught up in the war in Burma and are captured, Rambo is called upon to help. From that moment on the movie is non-stop, seat-griping action that blows you away. It's hard not to stand up and cheer when Rambo begins to do his thing against the bad guys.

While this movie is gory for the weak-at-heart it is also an eye-opener for the younger generation who doesn't remember what our Vietnam Veterans lived through in the jungles of Vietnam. Rambo easily adapts to this type of violence because he was trained to kill by our own Special Forces. He survived Vietnam only to get pulled back into war time and time again. While many view this movie as an action flick only it is also a reminder to us all that war is dirty and violent and the men who fight live in extreme circumstances under extreme conditions. John Rambo has never had the opportunity to actually "leave" this part of his life behind, both mentally and physically. It is important that the movie-goers think about this as they watch this movie.

Rambo does not disappoint all the way to the end. If you were a past Rambo fan - don't miss this flick. If you are new to this character then see it anyway and afterward go out and get the rest of the Rambo series. Rambo is the best of Stallone's characters, maybe even beating out Rocky. Watch the movie and find out for yourself.
