Asians in an Uproar

Erinn Soule
Ramiele Malubay was the topic of one of my articles last week. Within minutes of it being published, I had hate mail, fan mail and questions pour in. Generally this is a sign of a good writer, keeping readers interested in your work. Not everyone will agree with a writer's point of view or opinions, however we as writers, are entitled to them.

Do I think Ramiele Malubay is talented? No I do not. It was merely my opinion, which the last time I checked, I am entitled to. Do I think it is because she is Asian? No, I do not. Her attitude lacks security, strength or integrity, again, my opinion folks. I had stated that I did not feel as though she was "Idol material", I still feel this way completely. Malubay has no idea how difficult the Music Industry is, you need to lose your "baby-doll" pouting and step up to the plate, if you want to make it.

The Industry is full of sharks, I have worked in the Music Industry for several years, and in my line of work, I see the one's who make it and the one's who fail. The Artists who have an aggressive desire to make it, a bit of luck and spend their entire life around it, are the ones who usually go far in the biz. Smiling, whining and twisting your curls may get you noticed, briefly. Your stardom will be short lived unless you are Paris Hilton with her financial backing.

The flooding of hate mail was amusing to me, as it showed the narrow-mindedness of these people leaving the comments, I am guessing most were Asian, due to their grammar and language. Labeling me a racist will not get Malubay her American Idol title. The many comments will only generate money for me on this website, not stop me from writing my articles, here or elsewhere. As long as i have your attention, you will see my pen writing.

Some will absolutely love my articles and others will despise them. It is my style, it is what I do. I am hoping to start my own column, when that happens, be ready to read quite a bit of articles, that in my opinion, you are going to hate. All my work is my own, it is written from the heart. I research facts, stare out a window, watch endless dribble on the news, and then I write.

Posting comments such as the one's I have deleted already, only make these people look immature, narrow-minded and very uneducated, go figure. I always leave comments that are in disagreement with me, if done in taste. Vulgar lashes, calling me racist or acting ridiculous will just cause me to continue hitting the delete button. If you wish to get into a educated debate with me, you are welcome to try.

I have nothing against Blacks, Hispanics, Asians, Indians, White's. I have a lot against ignorant, stupid and childish people. If you believe I am a racist by my words, then look within yourself first, as that is where the fear is.

Now go home!

I always turn American Idol and then fall asleep to it while my lady watches it.

    RJT,

You are absolutely right! I am entitled to my opinion, as anyone would be, but also I did not word my frustration of the people leaving comments correctly. The reason I feel they are Asians, is because they are "implying" they are with phrases such as, "us", "we" and "our culture". That is what was meant by language used.

I deleted almost all of the comments left from anon, and a few others, as they were just silly and disgusting...not demonstrating "passion" for an Idol, as you stated. There is absolutely no room or no need for me to keep those posts up. They are just useless. However I do enjoy debates, when done with class. Some of the most wonderful people I have met and been friends with, including my sister-in-law are Asian decent. So racist I am not, incorrectly worded, possibly. As stated before, if people do not appreciate my writing, they are free to not read it, especially keep coming back on to my articles. When I don't like someone, I move along, not kee
