RaMona's Wish Came True

Several months ago when it was bitter cold, many huge icicles had formed outside of RaMona's windows of her room at Cardinal Woods Nursing Home in Madison, Ohio. RaMona, with her creative mind, was looking at them and said to me, "Daddy why can't icicles be colored with food color...all different colors? Wouldn't that be beautiful?"
I sat there thoughtfully looking at them and answered,
"Yes, Bug (I always called her Bug. My fond nic name for her.) "Yes it would be fantastic. What a great idea."
Many times after that we discussed it at great lengths. I figured out a way it could be done. Unfortunately, I never accomplished it before she passed away, much to my regret.
Several nights later after our visit, shortly before she passed on, I had come home and watched the local Cleveland news. I sat there and a short article came on near the end of the news. Lo and behold, a woman from somewhere had colored the icicles from her eaves in an array of colors. I was meant to see that photo and it was as if RaMona meant for me to see it. I was excited to relate it to her the very next day, and she gave me the biggest smile I had ever seen and said, "See Daddy I told you it could be done." I only wish she would have seen the photo. I am convinced that RaMona's Guardian Angel meant for me to witness such a beautiful site. The most wonderous soothing feeling came over me.
I believe that thoughts can transcend at times even when a person doesn't realize it.
God bless that woman who colored her icicles. I thank her from the bottom of my heart.
RaMona's icicles became a reality!
