Randi Rhodes Quits Air America Goes to Nova M Radio

According to an article on MSNBC by the Associated Press, left-wing talk show hostess Randi Rhodes who was suspended from her job by Air America for calling Hillary Clinton many childish cussing names "abusive obscene language" has officially quit her job today. The official account is that Air America told Randi Rhodes that she couldn't go on the air again unless she made contract concessions, which terminated the contract. Air America next refused again to hand potty-mouthed Rhodes the mike, so she left.

Randi Rhodes has had problems in the past according to her Wikipedia definition internet page. In 1987 Randi Rhodes was suspended from a different radio station for offending gays and advertisers. Prior to 1987, it appears that the Air Force asked Randi Rhodes to leave in an unusual way that later produced an Honorable Discharge. In 2005 Air America had a defamation suit filed against them over Randy Rhodes, and Randi Rhodes was beat-up over her views or language, which caused time missed from work.

According to an article in Huffington Post today, Randi Rhodes didn't just quit Air America, she quit Air America because they asked her to publicly apologize for calling Hillary Clinton these childish - banned words by the FCC - cussing names, and that is what the "contract concessions" were all about. No apology = No Microphone.

As parents, we can all remember the first time that our adorable little ones utter their first 4-letter word learned on the playground. Some parents reach for soap, other parents demand a healthy "time-out" and others reach for their bible to preach some reasoning into their child about being a proper citizen; it doesn't matter what the punishment is, the bottom line is that all parents expect the child to apologize to the person called a &%$&.

It is obvious to me that Randi Rhodes needs to find herself another profession. Speaking about politics in 2008 requires a little more upstairs than just yelling and cussing to show that you are louder, and hanging up on the questions while yelling showing that you are in charge. Nobody cares about a macho routine in politics if it is not backed up by either humor or brains; Randi Rhodes is performing in a bygone era style. Name calling is not accepted as funny any more; that was a 1970's thing.

Why Randi Rhodes wants to present herself in the uneducated trailer dweller stereotype is beyond me; people believing that they have something important to say usually attempt to make listeners try to understand what they are talking about and not just bully them to show power. Randi Rhodes will be replaced next week by stand-up comedian Richard Belzer who also plays on televisions Law and Order.

Good-Bye Randi Rhodes. Radio Network Nova M where Mike Malloy is, gets Randi Rhodes starting next Monday. And, I won't be listening. I'm going for Richard Belzer instead.
