Random Thoughts: Anyone Out There Miss Me?

H.A. Senidal
Man oh man, did my two fans miss my mad ramblings? Here you go. Enjoy the brain junk. Feed, feed, I say!

While on the way to somewhere, I spotted a billboard for McDonald's that says eggs want to become Egg McMuffins. Funny, I thought they wanted to grow up to be chickens.

It's interesting how some of us are against abortions, but don't object to having chicken eggs for breakfast.

Yes, I miss George Carlin. No, I don't miss Jesse Helms. Carlin made you think. Helms made you think, "What is wrong with this guy?"

Back to the late Helms, some conservatives credit him for helping in forming the Republican Party of today. Gee, guys, I thought we were supposed to not speak ill of the dead.

To everyone who says, "Meat is murder": So is pulling out plants from their live-giving soil.

Here's a cold truth we have to deal with: We have to kill to eat. That delicious meat loaf Mom made? From a processed cow. Chicken tenders? Dead chicken. It's not just animals, though. We kill plants, too. Gotta get the flour and frozen veggies from somewhere. I find it interesting that people are prone to fight for animal rights, but not for plant rights. Guess it's because plants don't scream when they die.

Isn't it interesting how there's an uproar from the religious right when a woman's about to have an abortion, but they're quiet when there's difficulty with helping the unwanted child after it's born?

One argument against gay marriage is that marriage is sacred. Huh? In the US of A, you can go to Las Vegas and get a quickie marriage with an Elvis impersonator presiding. Television networks broadcast shows like The Bachelor, The Bachelorette, Joe Millionaire and Who Wants to Marry a Millionaire. Oh yeah, and Tila Tequila. I'm sorry, but I think marriage lost its sacredness many moons ago.

There's been some talk about Verne Troyer's sex tape and his fight to keep it from going public. A simple request: Keep it to yourself, Mr. Troyer. When a judge ruled in favor of him, I thought, "Thank you, God!"

My view of patriotism: Believing in your country's ideals, knowing if and when your country is wrong, and working to keep its ideals alive and correcting any mistakes it makes. Displaying a flag or wearing a flag pin not necessary.

Being held hostage is not heroic. Yes, being brave while a group of heavily armed guys with a limited worldview keeps you against your will is admirable, but not heroic. When hostages help others escape, that's heroic. Going to a place you know is hostile is dumb, to say the least. Advice to people so they can avoid being held hostage in a hostile land: Don't go there if you can help it.

A late Canada Day to all you Canadians out there and a late Independence Day to you Americans out there. I hope you'll all continue to think your way.
