Happy Magic Midget Day! Today is St. Patrick's Day: A day to celebrate someone who was kidnapped and taken to Ireland! What!?!? Then he returned later to be a missionary and drive out part of Ireland's heritage. He chased out the druids and other magical people. The funny thing is that there is no hard proof of his existence except for writings that aren't considered authoritative. Turns out he was originally associated with blue, too, instead of green. And being a good little Irish girl, I'm sitting here with a sore throat from standing in the rain at the St. Patty's parade Saturday with my son and two of his friends. Makes one wonder what ELSE we make a big hooplah over that may or may not even be a true part of who we are.
We love to gloss over anything and just accept what is in front of us. Why don't we dig a little deeper to find out where we come from?
Many of us fear that if we really took a closer look at ourself, we'd find that we are Monsters. We'd be afraid of the horrible things we see about ourself. That's not truly what we are afraid of though. We're afraid that our monster face is only a mask. We're really afraid that we are magical people, because that would mean that we'd been lied to for so long: by others but mostly by ourself. We're afraid that this would mean we haven't been living up to what we CAN be. It means that the people and situations we've trusted for so long may be just as much in the dark as anyone else. It means we've had the power all along and done nothing with it.
We're afraid of what it means to be power Full because it means the end of what we are used to. We'd find that we've been making a big hooplah over things that aren't a true part of us. We realize that we ARE the monsters. We realize we ARE the Magical People who can be whatever we choose to be. But once we realize it is all us, we are free to begin anew and create things the way we want. What is something about yourself that you are afraid to dig a little deeper into?
Two: Coming Soon:
(current news with Divinity)
This week is monster week because Coyote (my son) is having a birthday Monday, March 24. He has been working on a monster book, and we're having a monster party this Friday at the kids open mic in honor of his birth to earth day. So, make and bring monster masks, stuffed monsters to show off, monster drawings and make some noise with us as we unashamedly celebrate the monsters we are! Join us at Ray's Monkey House Friday 6 -10 pm. 1578 Bardstown Rd.
Also, a moment of celebration! My children's book Snot, Bots, and Other thoughts has finally gone into layout! Yay! Three: Rhyme and Reason:
What more do you want from me?
As I remember that I'm free?
I rip myself wide open to find
The things that keep me from You...
And when I don't ..... You do.
Four: Thank yous:
I am so grateful to be given opportunities to see how far I've come in my own growth , and a chance to face old fears and realize they are no longer a threat.
I am grateful for the opportunities presented lately to prove that I am ready to love unconditionally and to apply all that I learn.
I am grateful to see the things that aren't truly a part of me :)
Five: The Tightrope:
*a glimpse at the paths I currently find myself walking...
It's interesting that it is usually our fear of the monsters we could be that make us a monster. We lay in our beds, and begin to sense that there is something to be afraid of in the dark around us. We could go and flip on the light switch, but something might get us on our way there. It's easier to lay and try to comfort ourselves in the dark by throwing our blankets over our head or imagining beings to protect us. In addition to that, we might find that when we turn on the light, there really IS a horrible monster breathing down our neck! Even more horrible , we find that it is a mirror in front of us. As horrible as that is, in the light, we see that it is only us and we do have the power to change that. If we never flip on the switch, we lay sleeping, letting the imagined monsters wreak havoc on our dream scape.
Six: Sideshow Snippet:
Snippets from journals
I realized that I exist in stitches. They're the only thing holding my heart together. I think the last one's about to burst and I'll bleed my love all over you.
It is only because I've stitched myself together so many times, that I learned to break free and exist without boundaries. It is when I stopped stitching, that I stopped leaking out into the lives of others and began to flow forth like a raging river, washing over them.

Ten: Grand Finale:
I want to take a moment to thank each and every one of you for playing dress up with me. We don our masks and play passionate performer and entranced audience, teacher and student, lovers, friends, parent and child, monster and victim. We rise up and agree to play these roles with each other. We come back again and again to find new ways to dress up and new scenarios to play with. Sometimes we're monsters, but remember how fun it is to say "Chase me! Chase me!" and then bound across the playground *or bedroom* as fast as we can go? Sometimes we lovingly assume monster roles that allow us to see through our own masks. Sometimes we let down our masks and remember we are magical people before choosing a new mask to wear. It's when we all begin to agree to go without masks for a while that we see ourself everywhere we look. We're on a huge playdate with ourselves.
Dream well, dream deep and may all paths lead you back to the heart.
Love, light and Blessings to send you through your dream.
