Randy Moss Accused of Punching Woman; Slapped with Restraining Order

On Wednesday Patriots wide receiver and Pro Bowler Randy Moss was hit with a restraining order in Broward County court in Florida for alleged punching a woman named Rachelle Washington. The restraining order prevents Moss from coming within 500 feet of her. According to ESPN, Randy Moss has vehemently denied these accusations stating, "I've never put my hand on one woman, physically or in an angry manner." No criminal charges were filed against Moss. On Wednesday, Moss spoke to reporters as he denied the accusations.

So will the retraining order against Moss be a distraction to him on game day in the AFC championship game against the New England Patriots. I doubt it. The Patriots do not get bothered by these off the field problems and they are the utmost professionals on the football field, led by their coach Bill Belichick. This will have almost no impact on Moss or the Patriots during the game.

On March 18, 2007, Packers quarterback Brett Favre received a restraining order against broadcaster John Madden for his inappropriate behavior toward Favre. The restraining order which was issued in Brown County, Wisconsin stated that John Madden could not come with in 500 yards of Favre and could not send him emails or items in the mail. Previously, Favre reported that John Madden had sent him underwear, pictures, and letters that Favre deemed as unprofessional and an unhealthy obsession with him.

On January 13, 2007, New Jersey Nets basketball player Jason Kidd was issued a restraining order by the courts from his wife Joumana Kidd. Previously, Jason Kidd had filed for his own restraining order against his wife for the very same thing of domestic disturbance. Jason Kidd and he wife had been married since 1997.
New York Knicks team executive Isiah Thomas seems to continuously be in the news for restraining orders brought against him. His ex wife issues a restraining order against him, as did the WNBA and was issued a restraining order after a jury found him guilty of sexually assaulting Knicks employee Anucha Browne.

Almost sad....Moss is actually on his best behavior all season, and now this happens. Just when him and T.O were finally not dominating Sports Center for off field antics, they come back with a vengence....though Moss's alleged way of doing it is far more serious.
