Randy Orton Suffers a Concussion

Spy Radio
World Heavyweight Champion Randy Orton suffered a concussion while wrestling in Spain over the weekend. The concussion may prevent Orton from competing at Capitol Punishment. Orton is scheduled to defended his Championship against Christian at Capitol Punishment. If Orton is not cleared to compete at Capitol Punishment he should be stripped of his Championship.

Orton should be stripped of his Championship because the symptoms of a concussion could last for a substantial period of time. Take Pittsburgh Penguins Sidney Crosby for example. After suffering a hit to the head in back to back games, Crosby sat out for the remainder of the season. Crosby was hit on January 5th, 2011. Since that time Crosby has given no indication on when he will return to the ice. As for Orton no one knows when he will return to the ring.

If Orton can not return to the ring by Capitol Punishment what should the WWE do? I see a few paths the WWE could go down. They could replace Orton with another SmackDown Superstar like Sheamus or Mark Henry. To me that does not make a lot of sense because Christian, Sheamus, and Mark Henry are all heels. I think it would be in the WWE's best interest to start an eight man tournament at Capitol Punishment. The tournament can feature Christian, Sheamus, Mark Henry, Cody Rhodes, Sin Cara, Kane, Wade Barrett, and Jinder Mahal. The tournament can conclude at the following Pay-Per-View (PPV) with the remaining two Superstars competing for the vacant World Heavyweight Championship.

Too bad for him. But great reporting

He wouldn't be wise to try to defend his title at this time.

Being alive with an opportunity to reclaim the title next year is better than being gone because the concussion was aggravated in a fight. Good report!
