Ranking the Best Remaining Quarterbacks in the NFL Playoffs

Hard Worker
1. The remaining quarterbacks still in the playoffs are an interesting bunch, led by the best offensive player and MVP of the year, Tom Brady. Sure you could make a case for Peyton Manning but after the year that Brady just had, it's really difficult to argue making Brady the top quarterback in the NFL. He broke Peyton Manning's previously held NFL record of 49 passing touchdowns as Brady finished with 50 TDs.

2. Peyton Manning: Peyton Manning is second all time for single season TDs with 49. Plus, he beat Tom Brady and the Patriots last year in the playoffs. How many quarterbacks in the NFL can say that? Peyton Manning will be hard to beat and is one of the best QBs still in the league

3. Brett Favre is one of my favorite NFL players of all time. I still remember when he won his first Super Bowl. This past year he seems rejuvenated and the old gunslinger will be sure to prove the youngsters of the league what being a quarterback in the NFL is really about.

4. Matt Hassleback if you recall, was Favre' backup back in Green Bay. He had that memorable game against the Packers in the playoffs about 4 years ago when he declare in overtime that his Seahawks would win the game in overtime, only to be picked off by cornerback Al Harris for the game winning defensive TD. Hassleback looks to avoid that same mistake with a stronger game against the Packers this time around. Finally, many of you may have forgotten that he did lead his team to the Super Bowl even though they lost, something that Romo, Gerrard, Rivers and Eli Manning can't say.

5. Tony Romo: Despite having never won an NFL playoff game, Romo really showed how good he was this past year in his first full season as a QB. The Cowboys finished with the best record in the NFC and Romo has emerged as one of the best QBs in the league.

6. David Gerrard: In his first full season as the Jaguars QB, he has played mistake free football as evidence by only throwing 3 interceptions in the entire regular season. He does the little things to get his team the victory and has remained steady throughout.

7. Phillip Rivers had a great season last year only to lose in the second round of the playoffs after the bye. You may recall that Rivers also made the Pro Bowl last year, something Eli Manning has never done. This year however, Rivers has been very inconsistent despite winning his first playoff game against the Titans.

8. Eli Manning doesn't deserve such a low ranking and maybe that's because I'm biased against him as a New Yorker. However, his performance over the past few years has been very inconsistent that you never know how he will play on any given day. Having said that, Eli has definitely stepped up his play with the retirement of All-Pro running back Tiki Barber.
