1. Rocky IV
This movie was so inspirational for me that I even got the soundtrack on CD to listen to as I would lift weights in my room. I would picture Rocky climbing snow covered mountain tops in Russia as I would do push ups and curls (Ok let's not tell too many people about this haha). Ivan Drago was the ultimate villain in this movie as he killed Rocky's foe turned friend Apollo Creed. Nobody but Rocky could get the opposition's fans, the Russians, to start cheering for him by the end of the movie.
Memorable quote: "If he dies, he dies." -Ivan Drago
2. Rocky III
This movie was a close 2nd to Rocky IV in that Clubber Lang (played by Mr T) is as good as it gets when it comes to an opposing boxer. However, the awesome training scenes in Rocky IV are what caused this movie to slide down to the #2 spot. Another memorable scene in this movie is when Hulk Hogan gives Rocky a beating and then throws him out of the ring and into the crowd.
Memorable quote: "You ain't so bad"- Rocky
3. Rocky
This is the movie that started it all, and it will continue to be one of the most inspirational movies of all time. This is where we first see the young, no name boxer emerge from the slums of Philly to get a chance at taking down the champion of the world. "The Italian Stallion" shows that he has the heart of a lion and the eye of a tiger in his valiant effort to take down Apollo Creed in their first match. Most people will probably think that this is the best Rocky movie of the series, but Clubber Lang and Ivan Drago proved to be more fierce opponents in Rocky III and IV.
Memorable quote- "ADRRRIIIIAAANNNN"- Rocky
4. Rocky V
I'm probably one of the only people who actually liked this movie. I thought there were some great fighting scenes with Rocky's protégé, Tommy Gunn, and even Rocky's son puts up his dukes to fight off some school bullies. You also get some great one liners from Tommy Gunn's future agent, and the movie is topped off with a great street fight between Rocky and Gunn.
Memorable quote- "Touch me and I'll sue."- Tommy Gunn's Agent
5. Rocky II
Too much praying and not enough fighting in this movie make it the ultimate snoozer of the Rocky series.
6. Rocky Balboa
I was really amped to see this movie after all the great reviews it received; however, this movie truly was a true let down. About 1 minute of the movie was dedicated to Rocky's training regimen, and the opponent he fought was so forgettable that I don't even remember who it was. Worst of all, the final bout ended in a decision. Add some bad jokes, some awkward dialogue with "Little Marie," and some terrible acting from his son, and you have a Rocky movie that I refuse to ever watch again.
