Rapper DMX Unhappy at Tent City Prison-Rebooked on Aggravated Assault Charges

Rapper DMX Might Be Extending His Stay at the Tent City Jail

Rapper DMX has been rebooked on charges of aggravated assault against a corrections officer for throwing a tray of food at an officer today, the Arizona Republic reports. DMX was unhappy that he has been restricted to a bread and water diet due to his removal from tent city into solitary. The rapper could face a long time behind bars if his probation is revoked because of this latest tantrum.

Before being rebooked on aggravated assault charges, Rapper DMX had been removed from tent city into solitary confinement after a profanity filled tirade that included threats of violence to a prison guard. DMX had once again refused to show up for his work detail saying "I already have a job and don't need this (expletive)." Apparently prison rapper wasn't one of the jobs available in tent city. Later, DMX didn't show up at his designated time to receive his medications. The rapper arrived an hour later demanding his medicine. DMX went into his tirade when a tent city supervisor stepped in to help.

DMX went from rapper to tent city resident when he was arrested and pled guilty to animal cruelty, felony theft and felony drug charges. DMX was sentenced to 90 days in jail and probation, the minimum available for the rapper. DMX's plea agreement says the rapper cannot own any animals, possess firearms and must attend an animal offender treatment program. If the rapper violates probation, he could be sentenced to more than 10 years in prison.

In an interview with My Fox Phoenix, rapper DMX had this to say about tent city's infamous pink underwear, "This is ridiculous, this is disrespectful," DMX said with a sarcastic laugh "Why the pink?" The underwear and socks were dyed pink ten years ago to keep tent city inmates from stealing it.

Rapper DMX whines about respect and how bad life is inside tent city. After being rebooked on aggravated assault charges, he will see tent city at it's worst. Sheriff Joe Arpaio says in a January 30th press release, "DMX is lucky it isn't summer when the temperatures inside the tents can get as high as 140 degrees." The rapper will find out, after being stuck in a cell 23 hours a day for 30 days, that most inmates prefer living in tent city.

I took a tour of tent city and asked several prisoners if they would rather be inside. Their response over all was no. They preferred the freedom of being outside in the tents rather than being stuck in a small cell.

Now that he has been rebooked on aggravated assault charges, expect to hear more complaints from rapper DMX once he gets out of solitary and back into tent city in March. Temperatures will be rising and the heat inside the tents will be brutal. I worked a few blocks away from tent city for a year and can warn rapper DMX the worst is yet to come.

Tent city is near a landfill and a rendering plant. As the summer heat rises, so will the smells. The garbage from the landfill will heat up, but much worse is the rendering plant. The rotting garbage smell is a welcome respite from the nauseating stench of the rendering plant's rotting animal smell.

DMX will have an easier time than I did, working right next door to the rendering plant and across from the landfill at a metal recycling yard. The good news for rapper DMX is he won't have to complain about the green bologna sandwiches in jail because he won't have much of an appetite.

Being rebooked on aggravated assault charges means rapper DMX's didn't learn from his earlier tirade. His 90 day stay at tent city could now turn into an extended visit. DMX is about to learn how brutal Arizona summers can be without air conditioning. He better get his act together because Sheriff Joe will always have a bed and a pair of pink underwear waiting for the rapper. Sheriff Joe has shown, after rebooking rapper DMX on assault charges, that he won't give the rap star any special treatment.

Sharon you need to get in to solitary and starve see how you like it! Don't judge, you never walked in this mans shoes, therefor you may not be so quick to judge him and his actions !

If you can't to the time, then don't do the crime.

All he got was 90 days for that? That is just ridiculous! He should have gotten more time. I don't feel sorry for him one bit. He needs to learn he can't just do things like that and get away with it. Let him sit in solitary for a while! Great article. :)

I love the way he runs the tent city. If more prisions were like this, it might deter crime a little.

Lol, that is too cute! I bet he rethinks Arizona completely....
