Rapper Out of Houston with Something New for 2010!

New Rapper Out of Houston from the Underground

Christopher
If you are looking for a great underground artist from Houston you may want to check out Stockz. He has a great sound and a serious flow and makes you forget all about the second wave of Houston artists that were big five years ago. The tracks are very nice for an underground artist as well, and the production is top rate. He does rap over familiar tracks from other artists but he puts his own stamp on the beats.

But there also seems to be a fair amount of original production as well. I downloaded his mixtape Optical Illusions and was pleasantly surprised. You get to hear beats such as those used by Jay-Z, TI and Lil' Mama. He also has Norman Sann, another great artist, on a track. It isn't his first mixtape though, he has another one Simply Talented that is hot as well. Simply Talented has a different array of beats and seems to be a bit more polished than Optical Illusions though.

The flow has a bit of Kanye West and Wale, even Bobby Ray. It just goes to show that there are some very good artists out there beneath the radar that haven't hit mainstream radio yet. Stockz and Norman Sann are the type of artists that you wish would get signed to a mainstream label so that you can hear something different on the radio. I love the array of beats, and I give up to anyone that can go 50 bars.

I don't know if Houston will ever come back around but these artists show us that the potential is definitely there for someone to come back out in the future. He even raps over Dirty Money's first track. If you're still stuck on that old Paul Wall sound you are just stuck in the past ...

Wow really? I listend to this guy and, Kanye, mixed with Wale smh not even close! I'm assuming he is young tho so he has room for growth! If I were you I wouldnt over rate him it takes away for the listeners efforts to see the quality in him when they expect to much! However I definetily see some potential in him, I think in the right hands he could be something special.
