Rapper T.I.'s Larry King Live Interview is Hot News

Super star rapper T.I., also know as Tip, gave his first post-prison interview. After the show aired, T.I.'s Larry King Live interview has become a hot topic. Many have opined that Larry King is usually "soft" when he does interviews but handled this interview a bit differently.

Larry King didn't procrastinate, he asked the young rapper how he, T.I., had gotten into all the trouble he had after being a straight A student at one point in his life. A wide smile grew on T.I.'s face but he didn't hold back, he was quick to explain how he felt about his most recent incident. He appeared very relaxed, open and sincere. Sadly, when he mentioned his friend dying in his arms one could sense the deep pain it had caused him. One might agree, TI was totally honest about becoming depressed and paranoid after the incident. He stated that his judgment was "jaded" because he felt his life was in danger.

Larry King went on to say, "On October 13th 2007 you were arrested by Federal Agents after purchasing 3 machine guns, 2 silencers...they weren't registered to you, you were already a convicted felon..." The 29-year-old rapper remained relaxed and did not hesitate with any of his responses. This young man says that he doesn't even know who his attackers were or why they pulled up on him and began firing off rounds. He makes reference to "jealousy" and later talks about being in a certain area of the club where other patrons were not allowed; he stated that they became upset.

Interestingly, King asked T.I. if he felt his sentence was fair and T.I.'s answer obviously was truthful, a flash of white spread across his face but he didn't try to justify his sentence he simply told Larry that the question was like asking him if he wanted to spend more time in prison. Why is that interesting? He didn't fall back on his depression, paranoia or fear for his life and use it as an excuse for his actions. T.I.'s acceptance of his crime is commendable.

The Atlanta born, self proclaimed "King of the South" Clifford Joseph Harris, Jr. is a young man who grew up in an environment with a lot of negative influences. TI's association with drugs and firearms has tarnished his past image, but more importantly he is aware of the fact that he must change his thinking and lifestyle in order to evolve and move forward in life. He acknowledges his potential and the opportunities that lie ahead, but many wonder if a new man has truly emerged from prison or if his interview with Larry King was scripted and unsincere. Only time will reveal what will become of this talented young rap star.

In my opinion, rapper T.I., or Tip a family nickname, is a changed man. He will go on to do great things in life. He is a father who expressed sincere love and concern for his children, and his respect for his fiancé is admirable. T.I.'s interaction with at-risk children is something he seems extremely passionate about; his willingness to share his negative experiences can help children make positive choices. T.I.'s interview on Larry King Live has shed positive light on a rapper, actor, father and ex-convict who apparently learned from his experiences and is determined to change his life for the better.
