"My first impression of the guys were....Gary, a humble family man...Joe Don..a southern gentleman (who his momma raised right!) and Jay, a wisecracker, but who is stop-in-your-tracks intelligent. Recently I went to see the Me and My Gang Tour. I had not been out to a show in about six months. From the time they hit the stage, the fans stayed on their feet and clapped and sang "all" the lyrics. I've never seen that response in my 14 year career. I joked afterwards to Gary. 'Hope those fans didn't have too much of a buzz before you performed, because no one left to even go to the bathroom.' And both he and Joe Don said, 'Can you believe they do that? Respond that way?' Even after 12 million albums and all they've accomplished, they are still overwhelmed they have that affect on people." - Jessie Schmidt (RF's publicist) on first meeting the guys.

Rascal Flatts Reminisce on Their First Decade

This is the year Rascal Flatts will celebrate their 10th year as a country band, so they talked to The Tennessean about what that meant to them and how they'll be celebrating. Highlights from the story include Jay DeMarcus talking about how the songs keep getting better: "When you take a Jeffrey Steele or a Neil Thrasher and they write a song and we do it and it becomes a No. 1, the next time around that's a great template for them to start from so the material keeps evolving." Joe Don Rooney admits that he has had no regrets, and Gary LeVox opens up about the misunderstanding of "Bob That Head," saying, "People should get their mind out of the gutter. I'm co-writer on that song. The stuff people were saying about it took me so far by surprise. I was like, 'Wow.' I was blown away by the offensiveness of it."
