Disney-Pixar is terrific at making a movie for children but throwing in enough jokes that adults will enjoy the film as well. Ratatouille should be no different.
The film, Ratatouille, follows the life of a rat named Remy and his antics. Most of Remy's antics happen inside a fine French restaurant where he tries to sneak gourmet food that is being served there.
Remy's connection with the French restaurant does not stop at the food though. In Ratatouille, Remy dreams of becoming a chef, so that he can cook the delicious food that he loves to eat. Of course, he is a rat, which makes his dream rather difficult to accomplish.
An opportunity for Remy arises when he is discovered by a young man working at the restaurant who is struggling to keep his job. The young man does not have the skills he needs to keep his job, but Remy is able to help.
Ratatouille follows the story of Remy and the young cook as they try to help each other out. The movie gets its title from the fact that Remy tries to help the young cook make the best Ratatouille for the restaurant.
The tagline of Ratatouille is "Dinner is served."
Brad Bird directed Ratatouille. He also wrote the screenplay for the movie. Bird was also the director and writer of The Incredibles, Jack-Jack Attack, and the Iron Giant. Bird won the Oscar for Best Animated Feature Film of the Year in 2005 for The Incredibles. He was also nominated for the Best Writing and Original Screenplay for The Incredibles.
Jim Capobianco and Jan Pinkava helped Brad Bird write the story of Ratatouille. Emily Cook and Kathy Greenberg also created some additional story material.
Some of the main characters in the movie are voiced by the actors below:
Patton Oswalt is the voice of Remy
Ian Holm is the voice of Skinner
