Rave Review for McDonald's Brownie Melt

In the last few trips to McDonald's I've seen a new item called the "Brownie Melt". Typically I'm not a regular dessert eater, but I do get a sweet tooth every now and then. The past few times I've drove through the drive thru I've tried to come up with a good reason to order one, but couldn't. That is, until tonight. Me and my husband were driving around and needed something sweet to curb our dinner. We decided to split a brownie melt.

I was a bit surprised because when I ordered one, I suddenly heard the drive thru attendant say, "these are really good". It was surprising because I didn't ask for an opinion, but I knew we must have made the right choice.

A brownie melt is a dessert made of brownie-like cake, covered with melted chocolate sauce with a white drizzle. Our decision to split the melt was one of the best decisions we made of the night. The dessert came warmed in its own container with melted chocolate sauce. It was heavenly, and rich. It worked perfectly that we split the dessert and topped it off with nice cold milk.

It's truly amazing how places like McDonald's can offer a dessert for around $2 that ends up being better than one you would buy in a fine dining establishment for around $10. I've ordered very similar dessert and have been disappointed only to receive a dried up piece of cake with no flavor, and typically not enough chocolate.

Chocolate brownie desserts are only as good as they are moist. I've had a similar dessert served at Applebee's. The big difference is Applebee's Triple Chocolate Meltdown dessert comes with a side scoop of ice cream. Although the two of these desserts could compete head-to-head against each other, knowing the price of the Applebee's dessert compared to the McDonald's dessert, it is no contest. For the price of the Applebee's meltdown dessert you could buy 3 McDonald's desserts which is definitely enough money to buy that side of ice cream you are missing.

I am a health conscious person, but I have a sweet tooth, and I can respect how McDonald's re-invents its menu often. This definitely defines McDonald's as one of the highest money-making fast food restaurant chains ever.
