Ravenswood Community Services Give Back to Neighborhood

Voluteering for Ravenswood Community Services, located at 4550 North Hermitage Avenue in Chicago's Ravenswood neighborhood, allows me to donate my time in a multitude of ways. Not only do my efforts support the Ravenswood community, they also benefit the nearby Uptown community. When I volunteer at the Community Kitchen, Food Pantry and Dining Hall, I work with a group of such amazing and giving people, that I wish I could donate more of my time.

The only evenings that are available, for this particular volunteer opportunity, however, are Tuesday nights, which sometimes makes it difficult for me to get there on time.

Approximately 50 other volunteers help at the Community Kitchen on Tuesday nights, and we all pitch in to help set the tables, greet the visitors, cook the meals, make coffee and serve the meals. After dinner service is over, we clean up, take down the tables and chairs, clean the floor and distribute groceries.
