Steel Jack
Every mother wants to give the best for her child, but are we giving them what he needs or what he wants? You want your child to be healthy, grow proportionately, have lot of energy and have a great immune system. So, why do most of the parents start feeding their children junk food by the time they start eating table food? Why do most of the restaurants serve French fries or macaroni and cheese and not steamed broccoli? It is really a very sad situation to watch young children eating junk food and processed food and getting obese. Even many schools are offering peanut butter and jelly or ice cream for their lunch.

To ensure that your child is eating correctly you must try to feed them plenty of fruits and vegetables. But it's your duty to make it delicious and fun as chocolates and ice creams are usually more delicious than anything healthy. We all know children learn from parents than any one else. If they see you eating healthy, they will learn to eat that way. Do not allow them eat packaged foods, such as macaroni and cheese, or fried chicken fingers, or anything fried and explain them why they should not eat them. Because children are much smarter than us, they get convinced only for a good reason. Keep them away from cakes, cookies, white bread etc all those which have preservatives and other unnatural flavorings. You will find that they watching you and what you are eating and if you incorporate a much healthier menu, so will they for sure.

- For breakfast, you can arrange a platter of fruit, like oranges, grapefruit, bananas, strawberries, blueberries, they will love it! Make some faces out of the fruits.

-Make them drink more water and only water no fruit juices having sugar content in them. Make sure that you juice yourself.

-Get them used to eating vegetables which are uncooked. When they get hungry, offer them some small baby carrots, or celery, they will grow to love the taste just the way as it is.

-You can introduce a new vegetable every week and learn how to mix it into your food. For example, chop up Portobello mushrooms in a chopper and add them in to your pasta sauce and you will watch them gobble it up, and they barely notice the mushrooms.

-Make blanched broccoli (plain) and keep it for dinner and make sure they eat vegetables and fruits at every meal and be careful when you go out to eat.

-Offer natural desserts made at home, such as homemade sorbet, or fruit smoothie, or peach cobbler pie which are all natural.

-you can give them some sprouts of beans, mung seeds, alfalfa seeds or any thing available. Just a cup of sprouts daily makes a lot of difference in their health.

Remember that you cannot give all these in one day, so give your children some time and let them know the importance of eating raw food, you will see them changing. The best part is to make your children to learn to love these fruits and vegetables and you will notice that they will definitely turn down junk food even when you are not around. At that point you will feel proud that you have done your part successfully in raising your children in to healthy adults.
