A raw foodist is someone that only eats raw, or mainly raw, fruit, vegetables, nuts, seeds, and grains. This is a very controversial way of living and has lately sparked my interest.
I have been doing a lot of research about this lifestyle and have found some very interesting facts. I first watched the documentary, Breakthrough by Storm and Jinjee Talifero. This was a little long winded in my opinion, but had some great points and facts. It also shows how to raise children on a fully raw, plant-based diet. These children weren't sickly and feeble, but extremely energetic and healthy.
There are also multiple testimonials about how people have cured ailments and diseases by switching to this natural way of living. There is story after story of diabetes, ADD, ADHD, cancer and many, many more disappearing with the start of this diet, and with no medical explanation. I was amazed by the transformations in the before and after pictures that people happily post, also.
A raw-foodist isn't limited to a small scope of things to choose from to eat. I have downloaded three e-books with color images of raw recipes. Be it, a lot of the ingredients I have not ever heard of, but the pictures definitely look enticing. The choices are endless and you can actually take a regular recipe and turn it raw.
The truth is, you will have to let your pallet have time to adjust to the new tastes and textures, but it almost seems that the body responds beautifully to these foods. The first few weeks are pretty harsh as your body rids itself of the toxins that are stored, called the detoxification process.
I think the ones living this way have caught on to something we should all look into. Who really knows what is being put into our food now. Growth hormones, arsenic, bug parts, and rat poison are just a few that I was able to find. It is amazing that we eat food and never think to question how it was made. It is a fact that fruits and veggies in their natural state is as close to safe as you are going to get.
