Raw Honey Face Mask

For Oily or Acne Prone Skin!

N. Soltys
Many men and women suffer from facial skin that's too oily. Having skin that's too oily can give you acne, rough skin patches, blotchy skin tone, blackheads, and a number of other pretty gross problems! Though it seems the only way to rid yourself of pesky oily skin is to buy outrageous products or try week long skin diets, there are many simple at-home solutions you can use that will give you the results you want in only a few days, or even immediately! Raw honey has long been used by women, and even men, to soak up and cleanse your skin and pores of excess oil without completely drying out your face of all those necessary moisturizers that naturally occur.

When using honey for a face mask, you don't want to pick up the little plastic bear from the supermarket. You need raw honey, or if you can get it, pick up some of the most local honey you can find. This helps to ensure that your honey is free of any chemicals or additives, and if you use local honey, it can even help prevent skin conditions caused by local allergens!

To make a simple raw honey face mask:
You'll need some raw honey, about two tablespoons should do the trick. You'll also need one egg white, do not use the yolk! The yolks of eggs have moisturizing properties that can counteract the entire effect of the mask! Beat the egg white by hand and slowly drop in the honey, adding it bit by bit so the ingredients can mix well. If the two consistencies are having trouble mixing, try adding the honey a bit more slowly as you beat the egg white.

Before you apply the mask, be sure to clean and open your pores to allow the mask to leave you with the best results possible. Use a warm water to clean your face, don't use skin cleanser or soap! Simply pat down your skin with warm water, or use a warm wet wash cloth to wake up your pores and get rid of any hidden pesky makeup or dirt.

Use a towel or cloth to cover your clothes, and tie back your hair! You don't want this sticky, runny substance getting on your clothes, and honey is a pain getting out of your hair. Once you've made a clean, safe place to apply the mask, use the pads of two fingers on each hand to gently apply it to your face, rubbing in circular motions from the inside out. You'll need to do this a few times to get it all over your face, and I suggest applying several layers for the best tightening effect!

When you've covered all of your face, especially those problem areas, leave this mask on for about 10 to 15 minutes. Don't worry, it rinses off easier then you might think! The egg white loosens the mixture from your pores and makes it easy to wash clean in the sink or shower. Pat your skin after rinsing with a warm washcloth, and behold the results! Your skin will feel tighter, healthier, and clean up any excess oil while healing moderate acne!

If you're impressed by this mask, it's perfectly safe to use often to rid your skin of any stubborn acne or blackheads!
