Raw Warrior Protein Powder Review

Almost a month ago now, I came across the Sun Warrior website for raw vegan protein powders. If you are vegan, you know what it's like to find quality vegan protein powder -- or rather any protein powder without whey. Whey is commonly sought after by carnivore athletes since it contains a large protein punch in an easily accessible powder form. Health conscious people are aware though that whey is derived from cow's milk, which has been linked to various health problems. Scientists suggest not taking large doses of whey protein over long periods of time because there is a concern over the long-time health affects it can do to the human body. Additionally, cows' milk contains casein which has been linked as a possible carcinogen (yeah, that means it might cause cancer). For me, reading claims from experts suggest taking whey protein but in strict moderation just flat out backs the claim that it could cause harm to my body. For me, I'll just stick with healthier options, thanks. No guessing games for me when it comes to health.

So, without further ado, I would like to introduce you to Sun Warrior Raw Vegan Protein Powder. Thankfully the company has so much confidence in their product and spreading the word about raw veganism that they offer free samples to anyone who requests them via email. I, like every other protein powder lover emailed them right away to try out their product. They have a few different products available but I was interested in the raw vegan samples: original, vanilla, and chocolate. Hello! Who wouldn't want to try it all?

The representatives over at Raw Warrior were so wonderful and friendly. I eagerly emailed the company website to try out their product and they email the next day, seriously! The best part was that the representative was so kind and helpful -- and did I mention a real person? How many companies give such a good service today?

Impatiently I waited for the protein powders to arrive in the mail, sadly I had to wait a little longer because I was traveling but I did get them within two weeks. The company sent me all three flavors -- thank you so much Raw Warrior!!!

For very few calories, I found I had mixed opinions of the raw vegan protein powder. I have to admit I wanted to try each one out a few times before giving you my honest opinion. So, I split the powders up to try each one twice. Each powder flavor came in paper sleeves that could be torn open wherever you are located. Although I didn't measure the powder, one serving was about one normal scoopful of other brands. So, it was easy to separate into two servings. I used half a serving in plain vanilla almond milk and the other half in a fruit smoothie.

Now, I loved the idea of raw vegan protein powder in an easy single package for its accessibility. It was also nice not to worry about it getting warm while on the go such as in a backpack or whatnot. It was so simple to just be able to take along a small amount of vegan nondairy milk and open up the powder sleeve. It's an instant protein solution for us that are on the go all the time. My only problem was with the taste with plain nondairy milk. With that said, I urge you all to read my entire review because I'm sure you will all be interested still. I (along with my husband) found that the nondairy milk did not mix well enough with the powder (no matter what the flavor) and tasted a bit powdery. I'm extremely picky, so this could just be my own personal taste preferences so yours might be different.

Love did happen with this raw vegan protein powder though. I found that it was wonderful in smoothies. I'm not sure if it just needed something a bit more solid to break down the powder or the added texture but it really mixed well. In a heartbeat I would order Raw Warrior to place as an added protein in our smoothies. It went well with green smoothies (kale, spinach, nondairy milk and powder) and fruit blends (such as strawberry, spinach and nondairy milk).

Protein is one of those essential things our bodies need to survive. Although many scientists have been claiming for years that we do not need as much as what the government suggests, we do need it to survive. As it states in Staying Healthy with Nutrition by Elson M Haas, M.D., "Protein makes up about 20 percent of our body weight and is a primary component of our muscles, hair, nails, skin, eyes, and internal organs -- especially the heart (muscle) and brain." Our bodies simply can not make its own protein so we have to get it from the food we consume. Hence, it is always nice to assure we are getting enough protein by taking supplementation through powders when we are extremely busy.

Therefore, I can suggest Raw Warrior as a raw vegan supplement option for those busy people that find it easier to consume smoothies than a full balanced meal. None of us are perfect, so it is nice to make sure our bodies get the nutrition that is required to live healthy, happy lives.
