Razzies: The 2008 Worst Picture of 2007 Award Goes To....

The Razzies are awards that are given out every year and the announcement is made the day before the Oscar's are announced. The Razzies, much like the Oscar's has several different categories. The one movie that was mentioned in most categories, and I was unfortunate enough to have seen myself was the movie, I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry. The movie fell into an alarming six categories which included worst actor, worst supporting actors, worst supporting actress, worst director, and worst screenplay.

The movie is about two best friends (chuck & Larry) who would do anything in the world for each other. Even though they are very different from each other, they both feel bonded to each other through friendship. Both serving as Firefighters in Cincinnati, they were like brothers and when Chuck loses his wife and is left to raise two children, he comes up with a plan in order to get benefits from the government under the domestic partner law. It takes some convincing but Larry finally gives in and follows suit to help his friend.

The previews and commercials that were advertising this film made the movie look interesting, funny, and full of excitement. However, after having viewed the movie myself and with three teenagers, we all agree that they used the funniest parts in the actual commercial. We expected better from a film that had Adam Sandler in it and agree that this was a bad career move. Although this film has stirred up a little controversy over particular issues, I contend that it is the worst film because it is the same old story line, and some of it made no sense at all; we even had to wake up one of the teenagers when the movie was over.
Fortunately, I used gift cards to get into the theater but I ended up feeling like it was a big waste of time and money.

While the actors are good the nominations for the acting with in the movie warranted all of the "worst" awards that it has received.
