RCA RP5022 Voice Recorder Review

The RCA RP5022 voice recorder is a great little piece of electronic equipment that you can carry around with you and record sound with. It has 64MB of space so you can hold up to 3 hours of sound. The great thing about this nifty little sound recorder is that the RCA RP5022 has a USB port. When you plug it into your PC, then it shows up like its a flash drive and you just drag and drop all the files from the RCA RP5022 onto your hard drive.

The RCA RP5022 picks up sound from pretty far away, the built in Mic is more then enough for most people. But if you need a better Mic, because the RCA RP5022 Mic can be a little bit scratchy there is a Mic jack to plug in a Mic to. If don't like the speakers which are scratchy as well, you can plug in headphones. You can also put files from your computer onto here and listen to them so the RP5022 acts like an iPod like device as well. Though 64MB is very limited.

The menu options on this device are simple enough and it is just a regular digital screen. It takes two triple A batteries to run this thing. One thing I don't like about it is the fact that it goes through these batteries like nobodies business. Especially if you play the speaker or record for long periods of time. You can also use the RCA RP5022 as an alarm clock. You will have to replace a lot of batteries in this thing, so if you buy it make sure that your triple A batteries are rechargeable batteries.

In terms of style, the device lags behind more contemporary equipment like the iPod, but this is just a simple voice recorder. It is best used for just taking notes, and maybe listening to a few tracks here and there. The sound quality on this thing is pretty bad with the built in Mic. Often things come out very scratchy. It is more then effective though for taking notes or recording conversations with people. Sounds a lot like AM radio when its played back, if that makes any sense to you. For the price though it is worth it, it is only about $25 dollars and that's really nothing in today's vast electronic market. Try it out if you need something to take notes or record conversations with people with.
