Reading Your Date's Body Language on a First Date

So you are on a date and although you like her, you are not sure if she feels the same way. The date seems to be going decent so far, and you want to know if she is interested without directly asking. One of the sure ways you can tell is by her body language. Most women will subconsciously do things with their body without realizing it.

1. Many people have heard of the eye contact theory, where if she looks you in the eye, it means that she is interested. This theory is not accurate because while that may be the case in some girls, other girls who are interested in a guy are not able to make eye contact because they either shy or nervous. The key is to watch where her body is turning. If it always seems to be turned away from you or if she seems to cross her arms a lot, then that is a sign that she is either not interested or not comfortable.

2. When walking see how close she is standing near you. If she seems to always walk behind you or farther away, then that is a bad sign.

3. When sitting, watch her legs. If she crossed them toward you most of the time, then that means she could comfortable with you and could also be a sign of interest.

4. Women who are interested in the person that they are seeing generally will also giggle a lot, play with their hair, or touch their neck.

5. Watch for her willingness to expose her palms or wrists because most women will subconsciously do so if they feel open to the person they are with.

6. Does she nod a lot when she is listening to you speak? Or is she just staring at you with a blank expression. The more happy she seems, the more likely she is in to you.

If she does not seem to be doing any of these signs of interest, then most likely she is either bored or just not interested in you. If this seems to be the case for half of the night, then you are better off asking if she wants to do something else or go home. Even if you really liked her, just call it a night than prolong a date that she does not seem to be enjoying. Less time and money will be wasted, therefore enabling you to use it on someone else that you can better connect with.
