Of course the lines of "smile, frown or crows feet" aren't necessarily foreseeable indicators into a part of a person's personality. A person may not smile much and still get "laugh lines" and "crows feet." A person who laughs often may still get "frown lines."
Repetitious facial patterns, prolonged exposure to holding the face in certain positions also out of habit, can indent impressions upon the face. Since the possibility to indent impressions upon the face exists, reading the lines & wrinkles could uncover clues into a person's past, present and future similar to palmistry.
An example of this would be the person who has pain who wrinkles his nose and squints eyes every time the pain hits. Lines & wrinkles that form around the nose & eyes may express the longevity elapsed with each episode and the severity of the pain. Light, barely noticeable lines may be indicators of mild pain while deep lines are severe. Severe pain could be an indicator of disease. Barely noticeable lines could be a symptom or condition of disease in its early stage. The condition or disease could be anything from heartburn to heart disease. Consciously or subconsciously the person may have been expressing the pain through facial positions. The person may or may not know they have a condition or disease.
Facial expressions and body language are used to read people, as with a profiler, and may be much easier to do. Facial lines & wrinkles can be covered by makeup and filled by injections erasing the story that each one brings. Scars and large pores can also disrupt lines.
Still a facial line & wrinkle reader could be used alongside a palmist as a second opinion and to get a greater detail into one's life. Makeup will have to be removed before a reading or not worn.
