Reagan's Former Chief of Staff: Palin Wouldn't Be Hired by McDonald's

Appearing on MSNBC Ronald Reagan's former chief of staff, Ken Duberstein, elaborated on his earlier endorsement of Barack Obama on CNN. In Duberstein's initial interview with CNN's Fareed Zakaria, he cited Colin Powell's recent appearance on Meet the Press as influential in his decision. Both Powell and Duberstein were integral members of Reagan's administration.

On today's MSNBC appearance, Duberstein identified McCain's choice of Sarah Palin for vice president as another important factor in his denunciation of McCain's judgment. Referencing the fact that McCain had met with Palin only once before selecting her, Duberstein said, "you don't offer a job, let alone the vice presidency, to a person after one job interview. Even at McDonald's, you're interviewed three times before you're given a job."

I'm not sure if this counts as an October surprise, as we're less than 24 hours away from November, but Palin better hope Duberstein's words are a trick because they're certainly not a treat.
