Real Haunted Sites in Las Vegas, Nevada

Now when you think of Las Vegas in Nevada, what kind of images conjure up in your mind? Is it the bright lights, slot machines or casinos that are open 24 hours? How about the buffets and shows? Well what about paranormal activity that includes ghosts? Yup that's right! There are several haunted places in Las Vegas and I wanted to mention just some of the rather interesting ones.

Luxor Hotel and Casino

Location: Luxor Hotel and Casino, 3900 Las Vegas Boulevard South, Las Vegas

It has been said that the Luxor Hotel in Las Vegas is haunted and for good reason. Now the most common ghost story that has been told involved a woman who was afflicted with AIDS and decided to commit suicide. Others include two men that worked construction in the early 1990's that died on the site and not by their own choosing. Many visitors have frequented the Luxor and have taken pictures only to have them developed and have found strange white hazy mist that wasn't there while the photo was shot. Could it be the woman who committed suicide that was unhappy in life, now seems to be unhappy in death?

Circus Circus Hotel and Casino

Location: Circus Circus Hotel and Casino, 2880 Las Vegas Boulevard South, Las Vegas

Now with a name like Circus Circus how could it possibly be haunted? Well it just might be. People have been murdered here and a mother took her own life as well as her child's. It's been said that strange sounds as if someone needs help can be heard in certain rooms within the hotel and casino. Does this mother have unfinished business to tend to?

The Home Of Redd Foxx

Location: Eastern Avenue and Rawhide Street, Las Vegas

Now for the most interesting of them all. Everyone remembers Redd Foxx (John Elroy Sanford) from "Sanford and Son" right? Well apparently he loved his home in Las Vegas so much in life, that he won't leave it in death. Foxx passed away at the age of 68 in the early 90's of a heart attack. A few years before his death this particular home on Eastern Avenue and Rawhide Street was seized by the Internal Revenue Service which I'm sure didn't make him a very happy camper. Owners who have since lived in the house have asserted that strange activity apparently of the paranormal has taken place on Easter Avenue. They include a door that opens by itself, footsteps when nobody is there and computers that decide to operate by themselves. Sounds spooky! Apparently Foxx has decided to become a permanent resident and there is nothing that the IRS can do about it!

I went to Circus Circus and had something strange happen. We were on the 17th floor and we were on the very end of the hall where the vents are on the side of the wall. I was standing outside our door waiting on my friends to come out of the room and I heard this strange humming sound. Like a female was humming a song very softly and gently. Then it sounded like a small cry. It was VERY strange! Thinking it might be coming from the vent in the wall, I walked closer to the vent and didn't hear it anymore. When I stepped back again I heard it. It was like someone was in the hallway with me. It totally freaked me out so I ran back in the room and it stopped. Never stand in the hallway ALONE.
